I see no real point in a section that gets little use and is for all intents and purpose being mostly used as a help thread....but thats just my thoughts on that.

Personally it makes no difference to me if there is no GB gong, but this is how i see it..... There are loads of highly skilled modellers on here, and when they post a completed build, you just know a GB gong is a no brainer, because the models just ooze class....... So when one from someone of a lesser skill level is posted, i dont compare it to any others i have seen... I just appreciate the fact that they have built something to the best of their ability, and taken the same time and care as everyone else, so they are no less deserving of a GB gong... I dont feel as though we should be judging someones efforts, just applauding them.

If someone wants help/guidence/comments or criticism, they should use a build thread (as suggested by Ian) for that very purpose.

Thank you all for a lively debate. We have all behaved, discussed and achieved.

The icons are back. Well all the ones I intend adding.

Due to a change in the provider, the original icon images are no longer at hand, so we have new ones. Sorry no picture of a medal, I though a Ying/Yang symbol fitted the bill.

I think we can call this subject concluded.

If there was an icon for good conduct, you all deserve one.

Amos you know I love you - er uh - you know what I mean ops: but Great Build should be just for that purpose. I know every one has a bit of a different opinion of what great is but there should be something reserved for those that truly are. By the way I am in no way tooting my own horn here because I think you should know by now I am my own worst critic. Great to me means I look at a build dio or what ever and think WOW that is truly incredible ! To hand them out like so much candy or to give them as a means of "paying it forward" does not IMO help those who for lack of a better term "need improvement" While not wanting to load up the site with a bunch of icons the spoken word seems to be the best method. I never criticize, only try to give helpful hints here and there. And one should never think his talents are so substandard that he shouldn't state where he feels improvements can be made. Sorry Moni, I mean THEIR talents. Wow you would hope Obama was as serious about the Iran nuke talks as we seem to be about this subject!

Jim: Ying-Yang. A symbol used to indicate balance and harmony. Of the icons there are to chose from it seemed to me to be the most appropriate.
