      oops I've already deleted you

As has already been said when something is written it's not always how it's meant to be and can be read the wrong way.

I think you have made the right decision to stay, we can all benefit for each other and loosing a member is not good.

            my two pennuth worth

personnally id hate to see you go.......always enjoyed your armour builds especially

you always get cliques on any type of forum, its bound to happen, its natural even in real life when similar types of people get together, but of all the modelling forums ive joined/looked at it this place suffers less than most

in the past it has bugged me....dosnt any more........if everyone had the same views, same choices, same opinions then the world would be a very boring place...........i have seen things that have irked me and i have had to say something which i have regretted, so now try to bite my tongue (i fail sometimes lol, but thats just being human) but its the variety of people that makes things interesting

i once did leave a forum cos i was p******d off at the attitude of the ruling clique.............was a few years ago and i stumbled on an armour forum, at first glance the work being done was incredible and i thought i could learn plenty.......after a few months i realised that the place had formed due to a bunch of people getting annoyed on another forum, falling out with admiin there and starting their own forum, so there was very much a clique of about a dozen............it was also the sort of place where they would take a year to build something, spending 5 times the amount of the kit on after market stuff.......which isnt my style at all...........they used to belittle the latest kits as 'inaccurate' since it would be missing a row of bolts behind a mudflap ( i just shook my head in disbelief lol)............but i started posting stuff and got very little in the way of recognition ,,,,,,i realised that it was cos i wasnt 'in the gang' as i was a newcomer and cos my bulds were basic/no extras....and i wasnt the only one who felt like that........so i told them to stuff it.....their reply was you should try making nice comments about other peoples work to fit in.....i pointed out i wasnt there just to massage their ego's, i was there to learn and i had joined in, including group builds,..the 'gang' then all started to band together to have a go at me...so i went through all my threads and deleted every pic i had posted......ive never regretted it for a second........id regret leaving here, its a very different feeling here, much more friendly

Well Patrick, as a newcomer on here, I don't really know you, but one thing I can say, I'm glad you decided to stay. No matter what type of models you build, it is nice to know that someone somewhere will always be there to answer a question or solve a problem, that as modellers we sometimes find difficult to solve. As for most of us on here, when we all started modelling, there was no internet and one just modelled alone at home, or in local groups. Now we can still model at home, but share our work with other modellers, and pass on ideas and help each other. Without this forum and each other, modelling would again, become a lonely hobby.

Been there got the T shirt Paul. Not the same forum, but I was a member of a similar forum, which was run by a group of hooray henry's who thought modelling had to be perfect or it wasn't accurate or good enough. Ok we all like to get our modells as accurate as possible, but it shouldn't become paramount to the point that unless it was, it's not good enough.

Yes I like it on here, just normal people enjoying what they build, whether it's simple or complicated, what the hell! Enjoy what you do, admire and praise others work and enjoy and share your own work. That's what makes a good forum.

                  wtf is going on!!!

I don't know if I want to read the other thread or not, glad you have changed your mind. I suppose its easy to get caught up in an argument. Step back and 'woooossssaahhhh' (bad boys quote)

I think all arguments on here should be decided with a build off.

Good for you Patrick! kinda knew you wouldn't go, and I also want Alan to know I never drew sides in this one, just human nature to go at it at times but almost always in retrospect when things have cooled down we tend to realize how silly we must have seemed at the time. Now let's all try to be good boys {and girl} at least until the next brew up ..............Jim

Patrick has now asked me to lock this thread, which I am more than happy to do. I know we all wish him well and are more than happy to see him staying with us.
