It sticks to plastic with out flaking. It is thicker and more resilient. It does all that Klear does and more.

Plus it does not smell and give you a headache. It is much easier to get a good finish with an airbrush

with Clear including not being poisoned

However Klear is much better on floors than Clear. Almost as if Klear had been designed for the purpose.

Buy a bottle of Clear and it will not cost you a fortune.

Hope that is clear about Klear and Clear.

Sorry Laurie, but your last thread was a little unclear/klear,

Joking aside its obviously a very popular product I gave my spit a coat of klear to take the decals and it worked an absolute treat.

In fact if I'm being honest I wish I finished it in Klear in the end because it looked so nice, I ended going over it with Vallejo Matt and it dulled the colours a bit.

I'm sure if I had used klear and then give it a wash it would have looked better.

I will be trying various products going forward but for my me262 I will be finishing with klear.

My last panic by was a Eduard fw 190 d9 as a overtrees pack along with a Eduard instrument panel as this is apparently soon to be discontinued.

A clothes peg was designed for hanging clothes but we all use them to model, we use what works :P

If you can get the white bottle with red label Klear its just as good, or go with the Clear, the one no Pro builders use.

I'd rather stick with what's recommended by class winners at the Nationals myself, though I'm lucky enough to have two bottles of it, and a mask and extractor so I don't poison myself. D'oh!

"Fool of a Took, next time be more use and throw yourself in!"

I think you've got your maths wrong Laurie!

          750ml of Future / Klear £3.95

          125ml Humbrol Clear £4.99

As for Humbrol Clear being thicker, that's not my experience of using it & I can't see that being a desirable attribute anyway!

As a gloss coat I prefer Humbrol Clear, but for canopy dipping Future / Klear

No headaches here at all. It does smell but I find it to be a very pleasent one which I like. I see no signs of poisons hazardous chemicals and symbols of death which I'm sure would be clearly stated on the bottle as a legal requirement I'm sure. I've tried the humbrol brand you talk of Laurie and vallejo and I still favour my future floor polish even though it not the original formula I find it to be a great product and it does exactly what I want it do do so I'm happy with it.

My post was about last minute panic buying Laurie. Not a Future vs Clear debate so please if you like clear fair enough just comment on why and how you like it. So if you haven't brought anything in a state of panic lately........................................

Oh! here's the latest....Five {unarmed} U.S. Marines gunned down in recruitment center by a {not allowed to say} person....Too bad they're not allowed to bare arms like the rest of us. Iran can be trusted with nukes but our military can't be trusted with arms to protect themselves, but the again what else would one expect when this is their president[

Ok this thread has gone a little off topic a few times , can i Ask everyone to be mindful of the original content. We dont need any more more threads degenerating into a "X" vs "X" type argument again do we . On a further note. Could i ask all members to re aquaint themselves with the few rules we have on here . See the ' house rules ' in the " News and information" section particularly rules no 2 and 9 , its VERY rare that the mods have to make their presence felt but weve had a few flare ups recently and hopefully we can all get back to the business of modelling , which is why were all here isnt it , thank you for listening

Oh come on ! Someone had to do it

On the subject of panic buying I think the only time I've done this was for the 1/24 typhoon kit , I wanted it for so long as soon as it came out I rushed to the shop with all the enthusiasm of a kid , it's still in the cupboard !

                          Very well said Tony

To that I will add that any future posts that have absolutely nothing to do with the thread will be deleted.

Repeat 'offenders ' will get a warning.

While I am at it, I have also noted a few posts that in my eye, the poster might have thought twice before hitting the post reply button. Referring back to a similar debate, if you disagree with a technique or a suggestion, don't just say you disagree, say why. That is how people learn. I consider it bullying and I don't like bullies.
