Mrs B will probably not have the most exciting day of her life at Cosford, bless her, but she will come along to be with me. It's only fair that she gets something out of it and her favorite hobbies are the garden and the kitchen.

Hence it will probably cost me a kitchen utensil.

How about one of those micro flame piezio torch things - has a culinary use for making creme brulee and also you could sneak it away to use for some soldering and forget to return it to the kitchen after?

Ijust want to know what kitchen utensil you can buy at Cosford (perhaps a siren of a ju87 to signal dinner is ready!! or a 20mm cannon to make Bunkers eat his greens)

If anything, I do hope the Cosford meet goes ahead now, it would be very fitting to dedicate it to Nigel seeing as he has organised it all, I do hope that this can be an event to remember albeit saddened by the loss of one of our great members...and the guy that organised the first ever meet !!!

For those of you who are going, make it a day to remember, for Nigel's sake.

If anything, the day should be dedicated to Nigel.

            Regards...Mark.

even though i cant make it now (for a number of reasons) i think the Trophe should deffinatly be called the Nigel.D Trophey in his honour. a very kind gesture Guy!

ok....everyone seems to be contacting me about this now.

one thing people want to know is who is still going.

here is a list of who i think is going. if you are not going, or you are but not on the list please let everyone know by posting here. The general idea is meet by the P-51 at 11:00am. some people want to meet the night before and have a meal and drink in Nigel's honour. that is entirely up to them and i will leave it to them to organise that umoungst themselves.

Bunkerbarge & poissibly Mrs.B (depending on weather he wants to by her a new dress or kitchen utensil)

I'm afraid guys I will not be going now.

I realise that we will all have our own way of remembering and honouring Nigel and I appreciate that a number of you will want to get together and have a drink on his behalf.

For myself Nigels departure has left me with a tremendous emptiness that I prefer to deal with privately. The whole project of arranging this meeting was very dear to Nigels heart and I was very much looking forward to meeting him for the first time this weekend to honour that effort.

The fact that he will not be there would be something I would find very difficult to deal with so I am going to pass on this now and maybe try again some time in the future.

I wish everyone well and hope that you enjoy the day at Cosford.

that is very understandable Richard and im sure....would hope no one would hold that against you.

For those of you that are going. I few people have asked me if Charlotte is still comming (even offered her lifts) Unfortunatly she will not be attending. Even though se would like to she feels that she should stay at home with Ingrid and her brothers and sisters.

In a way i feel i have let Nigel down not being able to go. Even though i let him know before his passing. He had a big idea about doing something for christmas and was quite excited about it and eager to tell me. Unfortuantly we never had time to talk about it or missed each others phone calls. He asked me to ring him last saturday night to tell me about it, luckely i came on here first. Unfortunatly he did not tell charlotte about it so his most probably great idea is lost.

For this reason i feel terribly bad and wish i had rang him sooner.

So if anyone want to do something for christmas or the new year. please throw your suggestions my way and we will see what we can come up with.

                              Richard

Just to confirm that I'll still be going to cosford - I'm not sure if i'll be staying the night b4 tho.

I'm sure Nigel would have wanted the event to still go ahead, I'm sure he'll be in the minds of all those attending.

Regarding future events - how about a trip to Duxford? Plenty there to see and always new restoration projects in the hangers - and they also have special days - tank driving etc. I think you can pay a fee to get a chance to see some APC's in action and if you are financially inclined you can hop in a vehicle yourself and take it for a spin.

Also - for next July what about the Farnborough Airshow?
