A good bad or sad day or what ?

Hello all, well Nigel it seems like a good idea to me but after todays' adventures :crash: it might get a bit repetitive ! At least until I've completed my stock taking at the end of next week, which wil be celebrated by the partaking of a lot of  I'll stay out of it until I get my composure back again :wink2:

    cheers

You wait until I'm home and doing bugger all!!!

You should have asked during dry dock mind you I had no time for writing then anyway!

Today I did a bit of unpacking, had a spot of lunch, went to the boating pond to join the Wednesday afternoon wrinklies and took Annette out for a curry this evening. Well she couldn't go to Tesco's as I took her to the pond!!

Nothing exciting but it's good to be home anyway!

Recovering from flu ! Spent testerday at the Automotive heritage centre in Gaydon for the Xmas conference !!!!!! Yeah Im well fired up and motivated (not) More of the same old thing why doesnt anyone listen to us and just put staffing as a priority???? Still despite the worst that the M25 could throw at us arrived home about 8pm. char thrust a feckin big piece of plastic under my nose and said "what do you think?" Whilst lara declared that she was a princess and that we all should bow !!!! Ingrid just looked at me and conveyed a thousand words in one glance! All of them none positive lol

Still after food life took on the ordinary every day routine !! the two youngest trying to outdo the other in destructive capabilities Whilst Ellie demanded i fix her Nintendo controller and Char telling me how many wheels a C5A has got

At least no one can say we dont talk to eachother lol

I went to Cadbury World today with 36 kids on a school trip.

Picture 36 kids on a coach going to a chocolate factory - educational merit?...I'll have to think about that, but I think the share price of cadbury schweppes went up a few points after their visit to the shops.

I got to ride on CADABRA* too (see below)...it's not exactly alton towers. The kids were 15 year olds too, so somewhat above the targeted age of most of the exhibitions.

          * For CADABRA read: yellow and blue noddy car driving along a twisting track for 10 minutes at 0.5mph past countless displays of animatronic "Chuckle the Cocoa Bean" characters.

Have you ever wondered how many hours in a week, month, year that you spend shopping ? stuck in a 20 exit checkout with only three operational at a peak period makes me wonder ? I should be at home writing, modelling, sketching but no stuck in a dam long queue waiting to get out ! what a tedious utter waste of time, why do humans consume so much food anyway, every week I take a look at our trolley and say to my wife,do we really consume that lot in one week ?

And another thing while I am on my tall orange box, think about this one-You go to do your shopping, stage one lift what you require into the trolley, then go to the checkout and lift it onto the conveyor belt, then lift it back into the trolley, then into the car park and lift it into the car, then drive home and lift it out of the car into the house, then once settled in you lift it once more into the cupboards, now why oh why has not someone designed something that will cut down on these logistics, when you think of the muscle power it requires to shift all that lot every week it is little wonder we suffer from aches and pains and at the worst heart attacks.

And another thing why is it that the most intimate of items you purchae at a checkout are alwayys the ones that do not have any price on them ? so Flossie behind the till waves intimates into space shouting anyone know the price of these ??!! as you jostle with three bottles of Whisky clonking against each other as you smile at the old dear behind,no I am not an alcofrolic just medicinal you know,as wrinkled jaw drops exhibiting even more ugly features,so the jumbled mass of food, washing powders, booze, toilet paper and bananas make the shaking lob sided shopping trolley go into a death turn towards the security chap at the door, and then to cap it all an alarm goes off,the stupid assistant has forgot to remove the security tag on my new underpants,so more waving of hands as intimates are once again held aloft to search for the reason why despite the fact they have been paid for some electronic gizmo has malfunctioned, those devices defy destruction, once we got home to find that one although de-commisioned had not been removed, armed with a screwdriver, mallet and the thing would not shift, who wants to walk around with a metal tag stabbing you in the backside anyway ? so next day it is back to the shop to remove it with a special tool, the only problem is that they have lost the tool ? so further delays at customer service as once again a huge queue builds up behind,as mouldy mackeral, defective clothing and faulty electrical items gather.

Well that was more or less my day,is that the sort of thing you want Nigel ?

I think that about encompasses it Barry lol

Perhaps tomorrow will be a little better (if its not a shopping day)

Must say though it puts my day into perspective

Meeting at Canterbury today at 9.30 so i had to leave at the crack of dawn in order to get over the Q.E Bridge . Peed down all the way. Then found the meeting was all about the conference on Tuesday (feedback its called) What a bloody waste of time Still finished at 12 so quick check of the concience and shot off home for an early one Had a chance to chill out before fixing Ellie's VCR then cook dinner now hopefully a hour or 2 modelling

A day off for me as good lady went for lunch with daughters, decided to use the time usefully and go and visit old friend way back from the aircraft preservation movement days,he runs a draughting and floor layout business in a £500 a month small office,he puts this to good use also as his book library which he moved from home,so in his spare time he can enjoy his hobbies,we mulled about old times over a cuppa and biscuits with me sitting in the directors chair with the sun beaming down onto my bald patch, boy you dont realise what we baldies have to put up with, landing grounds for flies, knock our heads on hard objects,we havbe no cushioning you see ! you can laugh wait until you are old and bald.

Anyway after two hours went for a chat with the lady in my local art shop, they were busy framing pictures, loads of them, brought a couple of tubes of artists paint and said goodbye.

Went back home for a cuppa and fed the two siamese beauties which had a real fuss, one loves sitting on my shoulder and purrs away like a tiger.

Planned the evening meal, never run short of ideas and as I am the master chef run the kitchen,it all seems to go down well anyway so cannot be all that bad.

Time to put the trickle heater on in the garden workshop shed, just keeps the dampness off the tools during the evenings,we get a lot of ground mist living near to a canal it swirls over the fields and encapsulates everything within a few miles radius.

And before I know it good lady returns from a girlie day out.

Thats my day what was your like ?

They'd have a lot more to complain about if it didn't get hot!!

Today, played around in the workshop for a while getting batteries charged up ready for Sunday and started to try to fit the new couplings to the U-boat that I made on the ship. The originals were rubbish and badly out of balance.

I also fitted the figures to the tower except for the last one that remains to be painted.

Then lunch followed to a trip to see the guy who is making some furniture for me but he informed me the wood still wasn't properly seasoned yet so they may start next week.. You can't rush these things. I am having a unit made for the lounge from South African Railway sleepers, eventually!

Then B&Q for the lamps that have blown in my absence and finally home to continue playing with the U-Boat. Annette did a nice dinner so we had it in the dinning room and then we watched "As good as it gets", which is probably one of the best movies of all time. If you haven't seen it you should, then again to catch all the neat little lines you missed the first time.

That's me for the day, a last half an hour at the computer and off to bed.
