Sounds as if you have had one of those days Char, yes shop work can be quite wearing especially when things go wrong,is that Argos you are still with ?

Regarding polishing the interior I would suggest that you get it as near as possible in model form, but not to overdo the polish.

Thanks Barry for the Advice. Yes I am still at Argos and I am going to follow in my Fathers footsteps. Ive got promoted to team leader which is a step closer to being in the full management scheme. My manager think that i am a lot like my father. The funny thing he doesn't want me to become fully like my father as he saw the footage of my father beating the hell out of a customer into a tv screen.

Really Char ! when did that incident happen ? no doubt the customer deserved what he got as Nigel would not stand any nonesense.

I am really pleased that you are following in your dads footsteps, something that you can do with great pride.

Erm about 3 months ago. What happened is he caught him shoplifting and grabed him to take him to the office but because he was on drugs he headbutted my dad in the nose then my dad being my dad decided not to take that and bashed his head on the tv screeen about 10 times. When watching the vid it was quite funny as it got viewed across the whole company.

Absolutely brilliant Char and all credit to your Dad. If more people did that idiots would think twice about crime.

It's just a great shame that, thanks to the mouthy do-good minority, we are not allowed to legally get away with such a thing. Making it illegal to spank kids is one of the most stupid things we have done in a long time.

And what is the result? We now have to have training for parents who can't control thier kids!!!!!!

                I rest my case m'lud.

                      Richard said-

                      Barry replies-

And if you need a good example of the degradation of the way people bring up children, then look no further than these Super Nanny programs,a screaming bewitched demon a few years old kicks the door down and spouts language never even heard in a barrack room ! no partner in sight as he has long since fled unable to stand what is going on,we have made a rod for our own backs in society today, gone totally over the top with absolutely no detterent whatsoever so they go from bad to worse, and what is sad about all of this is they try and make the lives of innocent hard working people a misery, nothing gives anyone a right to steal, they must be taught a lesson that if you want something badly enough then you work for it.

                      Nuff said.

Regarding the comments about not being able to smack children.

As I work in a school I'm confronted with the kids on a lot of occassions. Most have the attitude "what are you going to do about it?" they live with this attitude through their life and seem to be untouchable, on may occasions the sentancing the courts deal out is totally inadequate too.

It must be a learning curve though after they leave school and behaving like a total idiot someone decides that they can actually hit them...

It's a bit like the idiots on the road, even if they can actually get away with the way they drive, what if someone takes offence and actually retaliates and confronts them at the next set of lights.

The other day I was driving behind a young kit on a scooter who was doing about 45mph on a 60 limit and driving down the centre of the road to prevent other road users overtaking, when I pulled out he sped up and when I pulled back in he brake tested me..I almost went over the guy...I only drive a small Car but it's still 3/4 of a ton of steel. These idiots seem to get away with it though.

I hate the fact that "human rights" seems to dictate the law nowadays. How can it be right that a prisoner can claim damages from the prison service for "going cold turkey" whilst in prison cos he can't get his drugs??

Sorry mate 1. you broke the law to be in prison.

                          2. drugs are illegal.

                          3. it's my taxes....

                          minor rant now over........

Why is it when you open up such issues to a group of people everyone seems to agree yet we all have to live with laws we don't agree with?!!!

We all seem to have to live with the requirements of the noisy minority who are slowly and steadily completely screwing up society for everyone else.

Compensating prisoners is a joke and a classic example of a ridiculous situation that only a very small minority of do-good mindless morons who need to obtain gainfull employment would support.

                                ...and another thing!

Whilst everyone here is having a good rant...

With that case where drug additics were forced to go through cold turkey as they weren't handed out free drugs whilst in prison...

What is it about this "compensation culture"...I'm not sure how handing out money in these cases will do anything, they can all buy some more drugs I suppose...

It's a bit like the compensation people are paid, like the woman classroom assistant who was sacked because she wouldn't take her hijab off in the classroom. She was sacked and then paid "£1100 pounds incase she had any hurt feelings"

If I'm driving along and someone cuts me up, gives me a finger, keys my car by accident in a carpark- it all causes offence but I don't make a claim because I have hurt feelings.

                                And another thing....

If something causes offence, say a racist remark or an offensive remark, news reporters and the news will constantly broadcast the same remark and therby cause offence each time it is repeated...
