Bottle of Laphroaig, a case of Argentinian malbec, and James Holland's new book Normandy '44. Should keep me busy, if not sober, for at least a couple of weeks!

So far a good Christmas, spent quietly with family and doing lots of physio to get my new knee to settle down.
          Regards

Hi Ralph, it's the Select but I haven't opened it yet. Been steadily working my way through the Malbec!

My partner, Aileen, bought me a little model for Christmas - the HobbyBoss 1/72 German 80cm K(E) Railway Gun 'Dora' (82911):

In addition to the Dora, my other Christmas presents were aftershave, Cheese & Chutney set, a book on the making of the film "Moon", Cinema tickets, bodywash set, a shirt, a fleece, an Airfix Spitfire tin of biscuits, a jigsaw of Iceland, some wine gums, a pen and a calendar.

It is my birthday today as well and she bought me an EBBRO 1/20 Lotus Type 49 (1967) (EBB4) :

At least one of these two models will take quite a bit of time to build - and take up a lot of space when it is finished!

I still haven't opened my birthday presents yet so I am not sure if any other modelling items will appear.

BTW, Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Thank you lads. No doubt when I build the Dora (and the Lotus for that matter) I will provide a narrative of their builds.

BTW, I also have the HobbyBoss 1/72 'Leopold' Railway Gun and Morser Karl-Geraet kits in my stash to accompany the Dora. Heaven knows where they will all go when they are eventually completed!

My little cottage has nowhere left for new shelving, Chris, as I have two big vices besides modelling - DVDs and books!

Airfix will be helping me out with my storage problem in the New Year though. They will be taking my built Airfix kits and giving them a new home at the Hornby Visitor Centre in Margate. That should free up some space but probably not enough for all of my future needs!
