I wish I'd never bought these kits .

Think we should run this as several guys asked about kits in the previous thread on tools I've never used.Should expect this will throw up some real gems. Ok those with a stash to beat any horder let rip, and why not include paint .
    John .

Well John, in general I don't have regrets but I could add these two as 'disappointments'.

I once bought this one to have a sherman with a 3 part-gearbox in the front (as in the boxart, see the 2 big-bolt-lines on the gearbox).
But in fact the sprues inside were a re-box from the very old 1980 italeri kit N°225, with the single part gearbox :smiling5: ...
Also it had only 'world of tanks' (game) decals so for me this kit wasn't useful.

This one was very cheap but the detail and fit was extremely poor, it's still waiting for me to finish it on the shelve of shame...

Morning Steven, thanks for posting .
Yes the power of a picture , as in the case of the Sherman, as to that plane the box art looks about as plain as it could get !

I don't tend to build wingy things but I once picked up a Hobby Craft 1:48 Vampire FB kit at a show ( My Dad served on Vampires in Jordan in the 1950's while in the RAF)

It turned out to have 3 separate kits in the box - no instructions or decals for any of them!

The production quality was atrocious. In the end I gave 2 of them away and the other is still in bits being used to test techniques.

Too Many! Most of these are acting as foundations for my stash - 1/72 Flower Class Corvette - 1/72 Gato Class sub - 1/35 Dragon Scud - 1/72 Airfix Hercules - 1/35 Heller Leclerc, just a few on the bottom layer - of these the Flower Corvette & the Hercules, not built due to size, the Scud & Leclerc not being very good models! What I can say, though is all of them were purchased at substantial discounts. - A case of ebay-itis saw me buying models ( in the 2010's ) purely because they were a bargain. - I've since cured myself of this habit - I think!

way too many in my stash, just about every aircraft kit qualifies but what stands out is hms victory in 1/228 by revell....i have connections with nelson so love the idea of having a victory built up and on display......then i think about rigging and the idea goes away

John. I’ve sold all the ones I wish I didn’t buy and I’m very cautious when I see a kit I want to build now I go check out the reviews on many web sites and YouTube just to make sure I can build it and close the accuracy. This is a good thread also thanks for starting it

Interesting thread. I don't recall having a build that was so bad I didn't want to finish it. It just makes me more determined to try and fix it. Having said that I only get kits from well known manufacturers.

I think the worst I've ever had, by far, was the Zhengdefu Leopard I started a couple of months ago, then binned. https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threa...rd-tank.34492/

Emhar world war 1 tanks, those kits are truly awful. The only kit I have binned because of the kit vs my ability.
