I have a good mate who is a chippy.....when he was an apprentice he spent ages putting up an oak door......his boss said “You’ve made a fantastic job of it, the gaps around the edge are nice and even, it opens and closes really smoothly, and has been perfectly finished off....Pity you’ve put it on upside down......“

My first time doing a brake overhaul on a 60s Fiat roadster, I spent an hour bleeding the system multiple times, trying to get a hard pedal till the boss came over to see what was taking so long. "Wasup"? "I can't get a decent pedal", says I. "Let me feel", says he. "Shipit, old Fiats're all like that". Ask lesson learned. PaulEComment
