Thanks Tim, Wouter, Pete, Jim, Richard, Dave , Chris, Steve, Jack and Lee.
At least I'm not alone then, now if I was like Jack I would have something to worry about.

Jack good luck mate, hope you find something soon. Not an easy thing to come to terms with .Comment

It happens to everyone John, and the thing to do is not panic; the mojo will return - not that I take my own advice. I do sometimes find that if I force myself to pick up a brush when I really can't be bothered, it gets things flowing, but it can also lead to a ruined job as the attention wanders and boredom sets in. My own problem is perfectionism, a serious offshoot of anxiety and depression, and that tends to get into a cycle where I bin something, panic and rush to get onto the next one, ruin that, and go to the next one etc etc. I then usually remember the refrain from the Foo Fighters 'All My Life' - ''Gone, gone, onto the next one. Gone gone onto the next one...'' and that helps me calm down and reevaluate what I'm doing and realise I need to have a rest from it all - it's only a hobby right?Comment

 John,
I'm not surprised you went from minus 20 in Russia to plus 25 you have had no chance to get used to the heat. It will pass mate and you will soon be modelling to your usual high standards.Comment

hey John , it's not a crime if you leave it for a week or even a month!
just do something else and when the time is right you'll pick it up again.
I do find I try and drive myself sometimes as if it is work, and then I remember it's not.
As Peter says, it's a hobby. It's about fun and if it's not fun there's no need to do it.
 But you know that.
looking forward to hearing about your alternativeComment

Think your right Peter, we all want what we do to be correct, I know if I try to paint it will go wrong, so just going to sit and watch everybody else. May be i'll be motivated. It happens to everyone John, and the thing to do is not panic; the mojo will return - not that I take my own advice. Neil think you hit it on the head, being retired it does seems like work when I go into the cave and set too.hey John , it's not a crime if you leave it for a week or even a month!

Hi Richard, I've looked at planes, Russian of course, but to a none wingy they all look a bit similar and I've built 2 already. Ships aren't my thing, I leave that to Chris :smiling2:.
 Thanks though for the suggestion.

I even had to post this in several posts, normally I would just add the next reply, but this time the computer say no.
Thanks for the support, not going to do anything else until I get those figures finished......................................... maybe tomorrow. maybe not :upside:Comment

Im stuck in the same conundrum.Humid weather drains the old energy.I just paint my beach stones to pass the time.Havent built a kit in a few years,Maybe John can join me in building a kit jointly,I could maybe get a Russian tank to do,Maybe an old Tamiya T.34 for a nostalgia trip?.

Totally agree Mate.If i cant meet standards i see from others i tend to give up.I dont force myself anymore or it ends up a chore and hate it.Find the stones help to settle the mind.It happens to everyone John, and the thing to do is not panic; the mojo will return - not that I take my own advice. I agree too, for me its like a test that I'm afraid to fail or have forgotten the steps to achieve what I did before.
The buildings that I have done for instants...they stop at being painted. And the ships which I've stopped for nearly a week and it happened when I was adding the bedrolls. The moment I started to re-do the ones I had just finished meant that I was getting into a rut or just not confident with the placements. So I stop and potter around the house and get back into it when I'm ready.

 Cheers,
 RichardComment
