Same here Bob. I actually enjoy the washing up period, gives me a bit of quiet time away from the guests......the hard bit is getting them to leave me to it.

We'll get some chicken, steak, salmon, cheese, eggs, vegetables etc, cut those up into smaller pieces and then bake it as we like :thumb2:
It's will be just the two of us because of covid, so... we'll be eating the left-overs for some days after :tears-of-joy:...

I'm not quite sure what's on the menu this year as most of it is being prepared by "Daughter" #2 at her house.......I have however, been requested to bring my specialty dish of Asparagus Parmesan to the festivities. I have been informed that there will be 10 of us for dinner so will have to double the recipe. Should be a bright and festive occasion as I spent several hours there on Thursday wiring up a new dining room chandelier. Rick H.Comment

Roast chicken at my mum's (Turkey has never been a favourite of ours).
She's on her own and so is part of our 'social bubble'. She's at an age where she's not up to doing a full roast, so we'll travel to hers and do the cooking. The kids for some reason really like being at hers for Christmas.Comment

In our house we have homemade pizza Xmas day. We only have two meals. A full Scottish breakfast at 11 and pizza at 4.
Boxing day we go to my parents with my brother, sister and their families and have Roast turkey, rib of beef, roasters and all the trimmings.

Well, now that the girls and lad have flown the nest, the Christmas lunch is my favourite part of the festive period:thumb2:!
Rach and I will be having our"Traditional" 3 meat lunch..... with Yorkshire Pudds obviously .
So,King Ted Roasted Spuds, Turkey Crown,Beef joint slices,Pork joint slices,Peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and of course, the aforementioned YORKSHIRE'S:tongue-out3:,
I can't wait!!
.... Oh,did I mention that all this is being prepared whilst downing copious amounts of Wine,(I don't like Champagne ☹),chased with Jack Daniels and Coke .:thumb2::tongue-out2::blow-kiss-2:

Hi Guys
Almost missed this thread - strange since eating is an activity very close to my heart!
Our Christmas will be traditional; turkey and all the trimmings including spiced red cabbage, and Christmas pudding to follow. Not sure what the starter will be, we are very lucky that our 2 children (21 & 25) love cooking and prepare Christmas meal (although I still end up doing most of the washing up!!. They have yet to decide on the starter, probably something fish based. We will have enough for Boxing Day and a few more days.
the evening meal will be a cold ham with pickles and cheese, etc followed by more pudding or Christmas cake of Dundee cake. very much a buffet style meal.
hmm - I can almost smell the turkey!
