Probably a better thing to build that that Protar Ducati.

Not sure if this is a kits only, or any model related bits thread, but anyway grabbed some proper CA and debonder, acrylic gloss varnish, nickel silver rods and some wet and dry sheets today (1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000). Most of it from my local model railway shop. The sheets were a pound each from an auto spares shop. I figured I'd glue them to sticks, or wrap round files.

Neat idea with the sanding sheets .
I use a coffee stirrer with a smear of CA then place a sheet down and glue the stirrer to it, then trim.Being so narrow in width it's perfect .Comment

That's a brilliant idea.... The only question is why have I never thought of it!!Comment

I`m starting to run out of Vietnam related AFVs :anguished:.... HOWEVER.....
... I had completely forgotten about one of THESE......

My,my,my..... It`s one i looked at many moons ago,and at that time i also loved the look of it...... but i wasn`t into Vietnam stuff then:rolling:.......
..... but that was then, and this is now!!..............
............. And although i quietly sneaked it into my "Watch List"........ Rach spotted it,and bought it for me!!:surprised::thumb2: ,
Following that,i then purchased these.....

Not completely correct for the era,but some of it will be useful!
This should help my Vietnam fix continue for a while yet then?
Don`t ANYONE tell me that Steve,(Airborne 1),recently bought the same stuff!!:tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy:
Andy
Have the second but will DEFINITELY look for the first - you're surely one-up on good kit now Andy ----- BUT (Do you have an Ontos?) NB This is not a competition (at least not until I'm winning!)

Morning all
So these two arrived whilst I was off away on holiday.
These are paperback reprints published by the Tank Museum of the original 1989 versions . Full story here - https://tankmuseum.org/article/briti...r-crowdfunder/. I wasn't one of the original backers and can't remember how I found about them now but as I didn't have them already I thought I'd take a punt on a pre-order.

So following on from my books, there have been some more arrivals whilst I was away - this time to my mum's as I knew we'd be away at the time I placed the order.....in the long tradition of the forum I'm blaming other members for these....
......plus four purchases today which I have to hold my hand up too....

--------------------------------------
These I have to take responsibility for as three of them I plan to use for my North Africa diorama base.....much cheaper than specialist modelling paints and being tester pots for household paints will be pretty thick, so will hopefully go a long way......

These I'm blaming Tim Marlow and Mickc1440 for. When I suggested having a go at static grass they suggested tufts instead. I did have some but was running low and so followed Tim's recommendation on the brand.....first impressions are very good and at a very reasonable price too!! :smiling3: They also do some flowers and other things to and don't charge P&P either!

The one and only John Race will have to take responsibility for these after he recommended them, again some will be for my North Africa Dio but will no doubt come in useful for other builds!

Lot of paint and tufts there Andrew…..great stuff. I’ve been using Test pots for wargames scenery and groundwork for ages. It also dry brushes well .Comment
