Evening all so a few arrivals this week
Andrew
-------------------------------------------
Now I have the figure painting monkey off my back thanks to Tim and I saw how cheap this was, I thought why not!
These came courtesy of a member for Junior at our Model Club night on Monday night....1/350 is even a bit small for me!!
Every year we get a Christmas 'hamper' from work.....this year we got to customise it.....you may notice from the contents that I don't drink....

As some of you possibly read on my build I finally retired my old tweezers and went looking for replacements...

Well here are the replacements, and as you can see they have been in full use - not!!!
The Pink pair are what is left from the 'Army Painter' set of tweezers, the ones with the points must have been produced with an offset machine and a one eyed peasant, will not be buying their products again. The loose pair at the top are ok for general work, provided you file the tips square, because if you leave them 'round' you will be chasing parts all over the room let alone bench. And as for the set in the pouch - well the pouch may come in handy for something - for product quality please see 'Army Painter' comments above.
Well at least I tried, so it is back to the faithfull tweezers with 240 paper stuck to the jaws.
Mike.If the tweezers aren’t up to snuff Mike I’d send them back as not of merchantable quality! Only place to get decent ones is a good jewellery tool supplier…. Not cheap, but at least they work!
As to the break in, well, there are some real scum out there, with no respect for anyone or anything.Comment

I have a plan to do something with Styrofoam - hence the thread asking about it. The missus knew I fancied one of these but also knew that no way would I have spent the money myself :rolling:

Now that’s a bit spooky Bob. The pharmaceutical plant I worked in for thirty five years was on MOD ground. It was a converted tank repair shed, originally built for repair of Centurion tanks. When the plant was first converted in the very early sixties, the stairs and handrails, along with the original chilled water cooler, were repurposed from HMS Vanguard when she was scrapped :surprised:
As an aside, the floor of the unit was about six foot thick concrete and when we altered things we had to bring in pneumatics Jack hammers:surprised::surprised::surprised:Comment
