You'll need a bit of space to display that, although a twin blade rotor helps................

I wonder if they also include the more standard style of chin turret, or only the very early one shown in these renderings.

Ah, I didn’t realise that (Though it makes me wonder why model kit manufacturers seem to have picked up this annoying habit of not including minor parts for multiple versions anymore.)

That’s what I thought at first too, but does that matter? Not really, I think: if I want an early and a late AH-1G in 1:32, I’ll buy two kits, regardless of whether they have a kit of the early version and a kit of the late one, or one kit that lets you build either.

Giving the option in one kit is better because this means the purchasers aren’t dependent on tracking down the exact version they want to build. With this particular kit, if I want a late AH-1G, then right now I’ll have to wait longer for that to come out; and when both have been released, chances are that when I want to buy the late version, I’ll go to a (web)shop that only has the early one in stock.

It could be an internal accountancy thing, whereby the research and development engenders three items in the product line rather than just one. It also keeps the company in the “new releases” column, making them seem more active than they really are.

Something from Perfect Scale Modellbau, that I don’t think is a very old model:

No scale indicated, but I figure it to be somewhere between about 850,000:1 and 200,000:1
