Give the cat food from Aldi or Lidl. Chances are it’ll like it better than expensive named brands.

Our old boy was like that. He ate what he was given without complaints. Unfortunately we had to bury him on Xmas day. He had a great life though, and after we moved two years ago had a second wind, loving the garden and terrorising the local rodent population....miss him like mad to be honest. He lived with us for 18 years. We still have our female cat, but she is now approaching sixteen years old and is hyperthyroid so is on daily medication.

We've had both cat and dog and together, cats were always the boss.
One cat could open the fridge door and take any meat that was available.

The Best cat I NEVER owned was living on the place when we moved in. Left behind by the previous owner. It was strictly an outdoor pet and never came in the house. She (Samantha) had a bed and water bowl down in the shop and she slept on an old Deer hide that was placed on top of the Fridge I store my Gunpowder in. She was a fearsome Huntress and was forever leaving us "Presentations" of what was left of her "kills" on the door mat. Every morning She would come up to the front window where we would sit and look at the view, and she would place both paws on the glass and let go with a most ferocious MEOWWWWWWW !!! That meant I want my Friskies.....before I could get to the back door with a plate of Friskies she would already be there meowing and pacing back and forth impatiently. We lost her to a careless neighbor who without thinking, put out Rat poison and she got hold of one of the dying Rats and it took her also. I buried that lovely creature in the clearing up behind our house and piled rocks on her grave to keep the other "Critters" from digging her up. I happened to be up in the clearing the other day on my 4 wheeler and I stopped by to say "Hello", to the Best Cat I Never Owned. :thumb2:

Nikko here kept this pose for nearly half an hour eyes transfixed on a baby lizard on the ceiling light. If it falls its dead meat...more of a plaything. Our cats don't eat lizards.

Mine seem to prefer Aldi and Lidl cat food to that from better-known brands

Know what you mean … I’ve had these cats for three years, as the previous ones died in June 2017 and January 2018 (who also had thyroid problems that required a pill in her food once per day), both about 18 years old, and though I like the current ones, I’m not entirely sure I wouldn’t trade them in for the previous ones if I could.

I had a big kit delivered last week but the box didn't go to waste as the two hooligans of the house had great delight for the rest of the day here's two action shots Click image for larger version

Great picture Peter! Our rescue cat must have been taken from her parents before she'd learned the rules of cat behaviour, she has zero interest in boxes. She's also frightened of spiders, and especially of carrier bags!

its true.........and using a metal bowl can put them off even more

our last cat was 19 when she died and had kidney problems amongst others, she started to not drink and i read the same as you..........so i used to buy a bottle of 'mountain water' and use that, she loved it
