Phone customer services, press the button for 'Thinking of leaving us' when you get to the human being - do not be polite, but be firm and tell them that if they insist on keeping sending the messages this constitutes harassment and is illegal. Tell them they have 24 hours to rectify the issue, or they will be in breach of contract and also be breaking the law, you want compensation for the issue and for the stress it has caused you, and if it is not resolved in 24 hours you will leave and seek another provider, and add that the phone conversation has been recorded. If they quibble over the recording, then ask if they have recorded the conversation, if they say no, then remind them that they had the chance as it in their terms and conditions.
Under the law you can accept 2 of the same messages, after that it becomes harassment even if it is information.

And from Citizens Advice:-
'Harassment is unwanted behaviour which you find offensive or which makes you feel intimidated or humiliated. It can happen on its own or alongside other forms of discrimination.
Unwanted behaviour could be:
spoken or written words or abuse
offensive emails, tweets or comments on social networking sites
images and graffiti
physical gestures
facial expressions
jokes
You don’t need to have previously objected to something for it to be unwanted.Comment

My phone stays downstairs at night but my wife insists on having hers on the bedside table - "Suppose there's an emergency" is her excuse. We have never had "an emergency" but I not going to argue and so I still have a bleeping phone at silly o'clock at night!! :rolling:
I fully concur with agreeing to the ideas about things like this.
In my case the phone is always on, but half the time I don't hear it ring( Ask Isit me )
and I get very few calls these days .Comment

Very strange thing Chris , if your computer is linked to your phone and repeatedly sending you the messages you must be able to clear the phone numbers on the reminder list. That could be why your friend's wife keeps getting messages.
The other way would be to block the call on the phone.Comment

Chris, if Jen is worried about mobile use and radiation, ask her to read these..
The weight of scientific evidence has not linked exposure to radio frequency energy from cell phone use with any health problems.
A fact sheet that outlines the available evidence regarding use of cellular/mobile telephones and cancer risk.
From these, which are well written articles on reliable and well regarded websites, she can draw her own conclusions.
The bottom line is that the radiation emitted by a mobile phone is very weak, and more importantly, is what is called “non ionising”. This means it cannot adversely impact on cellular DNA, so is extremely unlikely to cause abnormalities that grow into cancers. She will get a higher dose of ionising radiation from walking in the sun or sitting in front of a TV.Comment
