Somehow after walking past Mr.Models stand at the Cosford AIrshow my 18yr old son had talked me into buying this; building it, painting it and then 'gifting' to him when finished. only £24.99 so not that expensive and it looks a good kit and build ( have checked youtube). Havent built any plastic for a couple of years so should be fun !

Hi all
here are my latest acquisition - pins but not just any pins:
these are pins from Watkins & Doncaster which are designed for pinning insects. They are strong and very thin, thicknesses of : 0.42mm, 0.32mm and 0.25mm.
a little while ago I bought some 1/72 scale figures and these will be used to pin the figures to the diorama base, and to pin together parts if I convert any of the figures.

Are your pins made of special steel? Are they bendable without breaking?.Comment

For info…..Lace making pins are another source of thin strong pins. I bought some twenty odd years ago for assembling railway locomotive valve gear and am still using them for odd jobs. They come in a variety of materials, diameters, and lengths.Comment

They are great, I’ve been using my heavy duty pair (originally marketed as flush cutters for model railway track) for at least twenty years and they are still sharp. Must admit I got some DSPAIE cutters after Bob’s review, and they are a completely different animal. Almost no cut burr. I use the Xuron’s to clip the part from the frames then the others for the final cuts. Saves a lot of time on clean up.Comment
