My swag from Scale Model World.
I loved being able to browse the equivalent of several excellent model shops, all in the same place. It's so much easier than Internet shopping, when you can see and compare the actual stuff.
Brushes: I got some Pro Arte scrollers (aka riggers) and some workhorse synthetics. I'm likely doing more with white metal, so I beefed up my prep equipment with mini needle files, sanding needles and sanding sticks, and a 2mm glass fibre burnishing pen for crevices (I've already got a 4mm one).
The tweezers looked nice, so I had them, of course.
Paint: I got some Abteilung 502 high density acrylics. The idea is to dilute these with equivalent coloured acrylic inks to get a highly opaque paint that flows well, for lining out freehand work. We'll see how that goes...
And the 3rd Gen AK metallics are because I've dismissed NMM (for me), so I need to up my game with TMM. And YouTuber Miniac loves them, so I thought I'd give them a go.
The bottle is to dispense airbrush cleaner more economically. And the mini mole wrench is for my dinghy cruising toolkit - but that's another story entirely.Comment

Small tip on the glass fibres brushes, the fibres fly everywhere and can be really irritating if you get them in your hands and quite nasty if you breath them in. You can minimise that by keeping a small dish of dilute washing up liquid on your bench and dipping the GF brush in it before use
Interesting idea on the heavy bodied acrylics and inks. Let me know how that goes, it’s not an idea I’ve come across before :thumb2:. I don’t use inks much at the moment, but when I do I tend to use Daler Rowney FW inks. Really highly pigmented and flow beautifully. Last forever as well……inks are really the only way to get good depth of colour into oranges and yellows that I’ve found.Comment

Tim, you're a star. The glass fibre brushes are incredibly effective, but very nasty to use. I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the irritation the stray fibres cause - and there you were with the answer all along!Comment

You can soften or stiffen the abrasive effect by varying the length of the bristles as well. They were a real “go to” tool back in the day……especially for etched brass work.Comment

My Telford shopping haul.
No kits :surprised: I just didn’t see anything that shouted buy me.
However I was very pleased to pick up the decal set with markings for a RN rescue Wessex which will be my entry to the next GB.
The little trees will be used in a couple of little dio’s I have planned and the rest are things I was running short of or needed replacing.

Hi all
So although I bought nothing at Telford, I did win this on eBay on Friday night and it arrived today, so very good service.
However, it was bought with some birthday money I had been given and as that's not for another few weeks, I can't officially do the big reveal until then, so you just have to wait to see what it is!:smiling5:
