As I use lacquer type paints I tend to use a good few myself.

I did consider using one per colour, but then I was getting flakes of dried paint, airbrush didn't like that.
I use them to mix too, just keep sqeezing them in the pot with thinners and paint, routine is thinners into shot glass, same pipette to lift paint and mix then transfer to airbrush, also to remove left over paint from Airbrush. (I also return thinned paint to jar.)
Then fresh pipette to put a touch of thinners in airbrush to blow through, this pipette is then used for the initial shot of thinners as above.

I too use them for lacquer paint. I use a clean one for thinners and an old one for paint. Once I’m cleaning the airbrush I drain the pipette, getting the last drop out with a bit of kitchen roll (They are designed to keep a drop in the tube when drained). I then use a couple of drops of thinners on a cloth to wipe the outside. Once I’ve done that I flush the inside with a few mls of clean thinner and drain it again. They will last for a few sessions, usually failing when the bulb end splits…….

What AB is it , I know HS have a very small white O ring deep inside the body. Normally only removable by a special tool, but you could have caught it with the needle .

I'm still using 3 out of 4 pipettes I bought 30+yrs. ago. Lost the 4th one just the other day. bulb split just as you said Tim, funny thing though, it was one of the least used pipettes. The really dirty, mucky one is still going strong.......the other 2 are for thinners.

Not an airbrush issue John. We were talking about leaking air hose quick connectors here. The O ring I was describing (or trying to) would be fitted inside the female “click on“ part of the quick connector……

Overpaid for this excellent loose lot of ROCO accys. The hard-to-find over the cab US Army MG mounts were the main driver, but all will be used somewhere.

I got this rather nice biscuit tin in the post today. It even has a kit inside. Not biscuits though which was disappointing
