Forget the money, you'll start feeling healthier soon enough. When I caught a cold it would hang on for ages and I'd be hacking a lung up for 2 weeks afterwards. I've not smoked for 10 years & I've had maybe two or three colds. They lasted three days max. Also, I would go for an hours dog walk and collapse after, now we do that daily, sometimes much longer, & I'm ready to carry straight on when we're home. Cornwall's not exactly flat, either.
Stick with it Ian, even in your weakest moments smoking again will never be as good as how you are going to feel over the coming months & years,
Hang in there buddy, I smoked for 40+ years, tried to quit many times w/many methods, cold turkey works. Taking it 5 minutes at a time worked for me, if I got the urge, I'd say "I'll wait 5mins".
When I started to give up, I always made sure I had a pack of cigarettes and a lighter everywhere I went. I told myself I wasn't giving up, just trying to see how long I could go without a cigarette. I felt that took away some of the pressure of giving up a lifelong habit. I'd been in hospital for four days without a smoke so that gave me a good start, and after about a month I ditched the packet I'd been carrying around and put my lighter away in a drawer.
Good on you Ian. I had a heart attack some years ago and my surgeon told me to quit or I wouldn't see 60. Hardest thing I've ever done but I managed. I've even got over the itch for one whenever I see someone else smoking, but I do get crazy dreams every so often where I've given in to temptation last week and had a cigarette and today I've just bought a packet!
Oh well, I just got started back up again.....Oh, wait I was dreaming.:smiling5:
Now Ian yes congrats on givin up the ciggies but now you will be like me an exspand around the waist lol as i was thin as a rake while i was smokein but when i gave up in 1980 on go the pounds

Cheers chaps.
It has cost a kilo (or maybe two) but two kg when you are already 25kg over safe loading weight is hardly going to topple the cart.... lol tell that to the doctor
It will soon be summer and the salad season will be in full swing.

A rare occasion indeed for the " dog " to be awarded for a none modelling subject.

Think of all the extra model tokens you will have now
I have been 'treating' myself and the boss (aka SWMBO) to some extent.
I have been replenishing my paints and got some paint racks and a tool holder!
Not bought any models though. (Yet).
