    Ouch! Poor Jen. My missus did the same thing back in November and she's still in a wheelchair although she can hobble around the house.

    You focus on helping Jen recover and talk to us when you can - we'll be here.

            YEA i suppose that they will as the last time i treid to cook me spuds when jen was down with a broken hand when she slipped on ice at her job i let the sauce pan burn dry an no bottom left in saucepan an boy did i get a rollickin off jen as it was her best saucepan oh dear

                  Pass on our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Jen, time to learn to cook then, Chris? I've actually got a couple of 'period' cookbooks myself (Shirley has several!) one's dated 1915, the other one is from the 1950's, both have some 'interesting' (read now illegal! e.g. turtle soup, which requires a live turtle ) recipes in them, but also have some tasty ones as well (my favourite is an apple and custard tart from the older book)

                      Sorry to hear that Chris, all the best to Jen. I had a bad ankle fracture in about 1977 so I have some idea what it can be like - it's not fun at all. :sad:
