So sorry to hear about Jen's accident, and I really hope that her road to recovery is speedy and trouble free. She will need to take it easy for a while.
All the best to you both
Garry
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.
Chris...the idea of cooking is to be present at the stove at all times and watch the liquids reduce to a certain level and top up if necessary. :smiling6: Next you're going to tell me you burnt your soup. :smiling5:

HI Richard funny you should mention that about soup not burnt but boiled over onto jens cooker as it one of these new fangeled things where it heats up then cuts off an then cuts back in again an suppose to be an engergy saver but in my opinion it uses more eletric heatin up again than a stove that just stays on an its one of those glass topped bleedin thing an well i got another rollickin off jen as she had to clean the soup off as must not use scourers on it but must gently wipe it off which takes time an now with me in charge of the kichen i think id better get some fire insurance lol
chrisb ps Richard cheers for the advice lol
I just landed on this Chris.................what an impossibility!! I'm not sure mate, but it sounds as if yer cooking is far worse than Jen's ankle. :tongue-out3: Hope she recovers with little or no complications. As to you kind sir, you would be well advised to stay out of the kitchen and follow the advice already given. I can't imagine what your chances of survival might be if you put one foot wrong in HER domain...........I shudder to think of the consequences!!
All the best to you and Jen.
Rick
Sorry to learn of Jens accident. Ankles are a nasty one to break. The bone is fairly narrow and has a large load to bare. Often give a clean break as well which does make the healing slow and weaker. A break with more than millimetre of gap will normally get a plate and a couple of screws. I was lucky and was just under so I just had a cast.
Wish her well and look on the bright side. It's salad season!
Blimey mate - you and yours are certainly in the wars at the moment! Hope Jen recovers well, (and before you go off the rails with your new-found freedom!)

Chris, I'm really sorry for Jen. I hope she'll recover soon. :sad-face:
Cooking, to me, is very similar to modelling: you have several pieces (ingredients) you're supposed to clean and then put together in the correct sequence following the instructions (recipe), add some custom bling (ingredients not in the recipe but that you like), let it cure (cook) for the right amount of time, put on a base/dio (dish with some vegetables, sauce or whatever you like) and then eat it. Don't forget thinners (water, beer, wine) and to clean the working station before SWMBO decides that is your ankle that deserves to be broken. :rolling:

I'll try to find some 'easy' recipes for you to try - must admit that during winter we usually have a large pan of soup on the go - so first 'recipe'!!
500g diced beef, and chopped veg (turnip, swede, carrots, leeks, potatoes, parsnips, onion - pretty much anything) add whatever herbs and spices you find in the cupboard and you feel like - I usually cook the meat in a frying pan with about a quarter of a bottle of cheapest red wine (rest goes into the pan with the veggies) put it on low power (usually for us it's set at '2') leave it gently bubbling away for at least 8 hours/overnight - any more only improves it.
