Personally I liked both original trilogies. However, I thought the prequel/sequel book proliferation of both was unnecessary. The recent Dune film was excellent, but I do have a soft spot for the original David Lynch version. Both series are great space operas though, with great depth and original thinking on display.

Did anyone see the TV series of Dune with Alec Newman and John Hurt?

Fraid not, but the one that came out after the recent film was really dull

That one I will have to have … For years I’ve been wanting to get the Masterpiece Models resin kit of that, but have been put off by the price and the fact that it has to come from the USA (= huge postage plus import duties). Though my only experience with Gecko so far hasn’t been overly great, for something like this I would certainly take the plunge again

I'm sure someone with the knowledge will put up the page with this on so you can all shake your heads in disbelief. Dave

I had expected them to have some design on them that is reproducible by a 3D printer.

In Dutch we have an saying, iemand een oor aannaaien — “to sew an ear onto someone”. It means to make someone believe something that isn’t true. I was reminded of it just now because those buttons made me think of this set, that I came across a while ago and put me in mind of the saying:

They’re by Chinomodel, but unlike the buttons, I see a definite use for these, especially on plastic figures.

Wow Jakko listen ere (did you see what i did there)there even more stupid than the buttons why would you want to remove the ears from a 35th figure and replace them with these god you'd end up with a platoon of Gary Lineker's ,any body got anything else to add to this we could have a frankenstien gb. Must admit Dave, there are times I’m with Jakko on this one. Plastic figures invariably have the mould line running through the ears and it’s a real pig to clean up. Doesn’t give proper relief due to moulding constraints either. I get the lineker response though, they do look a bit like taxi doors. Mind you, the few plastic figures I’ve had where they don’t have the mould line through the ears are even worse…..it then runs straight down the middle of the face and invariably ends up in a nosectomey when I’m cleaning them up….
