You spend all that time scratch building a Jumo 004 for a Me262 build and then this comes along....

    1:32 KEPmodels

Just a shame the company is Russian. I'd have bought one if it wasn't

Used to be a standing joke in railway modelling…..if you wanted Hornby or Dapol etc to produce a certain engine, scratchbuild one. As the great man said…..build it and they will come……

What a great subject :thumb2: . Needs a David Niven figure to pilot it though.

I just noticed, It says on the box ( top left ), 'Schneider Trophy Series' - I hope that means we may see beauties like the Macchi & Curtiss contenders!

Yes, but David Niven played the pilot who flew it in “First of the few”…..Clarke Gable, well frankly my dear he didn’t give a damn…..

Great subject, I've noticed on some of the MikroMir stuff they actually say injection moulded I suppose compared to the short run process? Still the sprues look good dont fancy trying to remove the etch rigging from the fret. Dave

I wonder if any modellers in Weymouth will be building this as the aircraft was regularly seen near the old bandstand pier. Saw some images way back Schneider Cup competitors in that area. (Must of been in the local rag??)

Used to find that with Tamiya, scratchbuilt the M-113 they brought it out, then the M-577 - yep! out it came....

I remember scratching an LMS parcels van back in the day. Took it to a club meet and someone said “that’s nice, did you upgrade the palitoy one”…..I didn’t even know they made it :sleeping2:

I know, heartbreaking..... Had that done to me as well and not looking forward to it next year as I know someone will ask the same question about one of my entries.

This is why it’s important to take photographs before you paint the model

To be fair to me Jakko mine was several levels above the train set one, and looked it. It had sprung buffers, working three link couplings, a sprung compensated chassis, proper corridor connections and correct scale gauge and flange width wheels……as well as a fully detailed underframe and multi level side relief. Took me a good two months to build it.
