Seems expensive but I suppose it's comparable to some of those part-works, and at least you get all the parts at the same time. Too rich for me though.

Just been Looking at wood models of HMS Victory - Made by Occre, Billings, Mantua, Caldercraft, Corel, Sergal, Manoli, Panart............
      Scales 1/72, 1/75, 1/78, 1/87, 1/98, 1/100, 1/315, 1/325
      Prices £1,200 to £52
This doesn't include the cross section models!
The question is, of all the models £500+ ( over 7 ) how are you supposed to choose which is best? I can't think that any one person could have made all of them to do a meaningful ranking. A lot of money to find out! With the skill level needed to even think about making one, I don't suppose it really matters!
I made a couple of plank on frame models last century ( only corvette/brig size ), and the commitment for even the small models was too much for me - so what it must be for HMS Victory is daunting.!!!!!
One odd thing that struck me - why the assortment of scales? 1/72 /1/75 /1/78 are so close, as to be identical without side by side comparison. My cynical side says that the makers don't want to be accused of directly copying a rivals parts!

Oddly, an Ausf. A. I’m sure there were /8s of those, but it’s rather limited in timeframe.

I was about to say, little point in silhouetting them, is there? And that, probably, means that there really are more different Tiger kits now than there were actual Tiger tanks produced during the war …

True, I looked at the silouettes and thought to myself - how original, I bet they are tigers... :rolling:

Boxart looks OK, but it's a snap together model, no glue or paint needed big enough at 468mm, but I guess aimed more at the toy end of the market

That Whirlwind illustration on the box reminds me very much like the old 'Classic Airframes' kit box. Just checked for one on evilbay and the whole box looks very similar.
