I think you must say that is state of the art! I've seen comissioned one-offs as good, but to offer models commercially is a different matter...............

Great printing….but a bit of a mare to paint I think……I’d be happier if it was in more bits myself.

With all these ship components in 1:72 and 1:35 of recent years, I wonder how long it’ll be before some manufacturer does release a proper warship in one of those scales …

Some aircraft carrier sections in 1/48 would be fine with me

You can get some Eduard flight deck sections:

US Navy Aircraft Carrier Deck 1/48 - size of display 397x257 mm plastic parts Eduard marking options none decals no PE parts no painting mask no resin parts no

Theses are injection moulded pieces. You do have to look around a bit, as they don't seem to be in the catalogue.
Coastal kits in Blackpool do some deck sections - these are printed onto plastic board OK, but a bit too flat..........

I was more thinking of a full warship. Sure, there’s the Matchbox, now Revell, Flower-class corvette in 1:72 as well as some submarines, and 1:35 scale MTBs and similar, but that’s about it, isn’t it? But given we have 1:72 and 1:35 scale battleship main turrets, and now a 1:35 scale aircraft carrier island … I want them to release the rest of the ships too! Not to buy and build myself, of course — just to see someone release them

That said, the island would have made more sense in 1:32 …
