Actually, you could also solder them together. It was quicker and gave better finish. You could also improve pitted surfaces with it. Much stronger too. Once I learned how to do that there was no turning back.
5 minute araldite was a great boon though. You could do several joints in a session. Before that it was 24 hr araldite and parts held in place by plasticine and cloths pegs overnight. Really slow and tedious :disappointed2:

I followed your advice and sent a email to Aldi also suggesting that Airfix is not the only possible choice here in Italy... finger crossed and knocking on wood.

No, I'm not going to buy any more kits.

              Definitely not.

No one beats Tamiya box art - there is something very quaint yet modular about them. I’m not even into boats but this box art and contents look awesome

Ok chaps, so following on from yesterday's bargain supermarket purchase, yours truly, has pulled it off in spades this time.

It's my birthday on Monday and so friends visiting yesterday allowed my to open my gifts from them early.

And today, in full knowledge of how much money my mum was gifting me, I happened to be at a model show in North London.......

Therefore, the following only personally cost me.............£13!

                      ACW welcome as usual!

                      Andrew

                      -------------------------------

Most excellent gifts from my friends:

                      Model show acquisitions:

Upon arrival all the exhibitors were given a free kit - no box or instructions though...

Turns out that it's this ICM kit that retails for about £27 here in the UK!

I did purchase this with my own money but it was still 25% below what it currently goes for.

Next up was this. A club had a small selection of kits going very cheap. This normally goes for £23 in the UK but only cost £15. Given it's a 2021/22 tooling, I'm expecting good things!

Finally this..... a trader that I bought my RFM Firefly from back in April was at the show. Their prices are normally competitive but this was a whole different level.

Here in the UK you're looking at £50 and upwards when you include P&P. I paid £38!

A great haul there Andrew :smiling2:
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

Not a surprise but I'm over the moon I will be able to get back airbrushing again.

                            Arrived courtesy of John!

                                Nice find - Nicer price!!!

Remember a sad say at RAF Ouston in Northumberland when I was at School. Quite a few Gnats scattered around. We were just about the enter a hangar for a closer look when our visit was halted as a MB seat had gone off and fatally injured someone.

I preferred the Gnat to the current ride the Red Arrows have!!
