Academy base kit plus Eduard goodies, usually see them go for silly money, but got this delivered for £60, considering the base kit new is more than that and 2nd hand usually goes for about £50 I think I did alright.
One of the few jets I really like the look of.

Well worth it. His character names and use of language is genius.

I got one of these the first time around for a much more modest price back then. It looks a great kit. At one point I did open it up with the intention of starting it but quickly felt it was too much for me to tackle at the time. It remains in my build queue - in the lock up.

Just delivered. An eBay purchase prompted by a binge watching session of The Mandalorian. It turns out that the seller is an old friend from a previous model club I used to attend, what are the chances?

I fancied trying something different before my planned tank diorama so ordered this guy:

A heck of a lot smaller than I'd imagined from the pictures and the first time I've dealt with pewter too. No pressure then! :smiling5:

I don't really have a lot of suitable colours either so I can see a lot of mixing going on, unless I do him in olive drab & panzer grey

Maybe he’s cast a camouflage spell on himself?

Great stuff Andy……28mm isn’t that big is it Looks a good sculpt though. Pewter (white metal) is easy to deal with. I use the same tools and techniques as cleaning up plastic. Basically scalpels as scrapers and folds of fine wet and dry paper to smooth the surface.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew Tim, but we'll see how it goes.

I cleaned the slight mould lines up pretty easily but a dash of primer has shown quite a rough (for the size) casting texture on some parts. It doesn't look intentional as its too localised, so more work needed I think.

Not uncommon on that type of figure really. Usually caused by overheated metal I understand. Don’t knock yourself out about it Andy. It is surprising what doesn’t show under a coat of paint. Burnishing the surface with a smooth metal object can help, but don’t try a suede brush as some recommend, it just takes the sharp edges off the casting.

                            Off topic a bit but.
Is it a bad thing when you open the door for the GLS Delivery man and he chuckles and says "Its not for you this time".
