Some exciting stuff for you to enjoy Andrew. You'll like those Vallejo Metal Colour paints. I have found them excellent.

Thank you both, and those that have PM'd me saying similar.
I blow hot & cold, I can't help it. Some would even use the term drama queen, but things that your average chap would just brush off, drive me up the wall!
I will try and stay well away from anything controversial :smiling4:
I have found this, (and a navy site I use), very good. Everyone seems very supportive and genuine.
If ever you need an ear my friend, just message me.Comment

Afternoon all
So two weeks annual leave has just come to an end and even though we were away for the first week, it didn't stopping me keeping an eye on eBay. Plus a very long term order finally landed....and then some necessary purchases!
All of this has arrived in the last 7 days.....and isn't the credit card feeling it....

------------------------------------------------
So these arrived last Monday, when I was at model club....
I got a message from my wife, as she thought these were kits....I'll leave the rest to your imagination!
This then arrived a couple of days later.....
They contained these......
Basically I'm trying to better organise my work area and make it look less of an eyesore
In the interests of saving the environment I have kept the cardboard boxes the boxes came in.
It turned out that the smaller ones are the perfect size for transporting completed kits to shows and the larger box was clearly designed to store Eduard 1/48 wingy kits!
In terms of 1/48 wingy kits, it suddenly dawned on me that I didn't have a Hurricane.
That is until this arrived. Until Arma released their new 1/48 Wingy kit, I understand the Airfix kits were the best around. Managed to get this after a cheeky bid at about 25% less than brand new.
Next up this.....
I've also been looking for a Corsair and have picked on the Tamiya one as a likely candidate, as it's not too expensive. In the UK you're looking at £19-20 delivered, with the below kit going for £27-30. For some reason an online model shop dropped the below kit's price down to the same as the standalone Corsair - £20....so thought it would have been rude not to.
This though was probably the pick of the kits....
This normally goes for £27-£30 delivered in the UK. However, Geoffors pointed out the week before last, Amazon were knocking these out cheap. VERY cheap. This only cost £11......and fortunately it survived the very flimsy packaging you can see.
One can never have too many Spitfires!
I managed to win this on eBay for only £33 vs £50+ new......so each Profipack plane cost on only £16.50. Plus a resin figure of Douglas Bader (which I can take or leave)
This though was the order of the week.
A MASSIVE thank you to our host John for simply outstanding service.....and in this case not due to the speed, as is usually the case
In view of my upcoming March annual bonus, I approached him back in February asking if he would price match another site on some paints and allow me to back order some out of stock items, as I was in no rush.
The original order was the 110, the Metal Color Paints and the Uschi Metal polishing powders. He kindly said "yes" and even beat what in hindsight was a slightly cheeky offer on my part!!
He kept me regularly updated throughout, as and when items arrived in stock, and even let me top up the order three times with more more paints, supplies and my first every biplane.....what attracted me to this was the fact it has no rigging!!
So, John, thank you yet again for your support and patience!! It really was way past what I was expecting when I first messaged you!!

For my next project, after the LCA is finished:

I don’t actually need an LAV-AD for that, but it has some important parts I need for it, and these two together cost about the same as buying a resin conversion kit that also had those parts, but only half as many as what I want, so the choice was easyComment

Im planning a long term .. highly ambitious setup .. the one that sits on the back burner but is worked on now and then .. X2 Famos , Panther or maybe other based on the bridge concept in the other picture .. i want a waterfall at one end though and a much bigger river !
Bottom Famo turned up today .. plagiarism i feel but it looks gorgeous and i want to have a go at something really challenging in between other models .. or perhaps an homage to something so good .
Btw .. how do i get images the correct way up .. i've tried rotating but no joy ???Comment

Found this listed on Etsy for the ridiculous price in the lower left corner of the image so I ordered 2 of these Fiat 666 trucks in 1-87 scale. This company is in Poland and the quality of his printing in this scale is "baby butt" smooth with all the fine details in place. The best part is that he prints most all scales. I visited his site and there are lots of other interesting and uncommon models available. If you don't see what you are looking for email him and he'll let you know if he can do it.Comment

Two parcels waiting for me when I got home from work. The first one from John excellent service as usual:
Been keen to try the S M S paints for diorama bases since people have said they are a bit more opaque than MRP. And I know some scoff at ready made 'modelling' products, but I've never used resin before, and don't have space to store bigger vats of the stuff, so this will be ideal for the first attempt at water for me.
Second parcel contained these two. Bought on a facebook auction site at half the RRP prices. Both delivered, cost less than one item on it's own. The firetruck not usually my thing, but could be fun. If not I'll pop it on ebay where they seem to go for double what I paid.
