I was lucky enough to find a great compromise on that. As an architectural model maker I had a job I loved every day. The subject matter didn't interest me at all although the making side of things was brilliant. So making figures in my spare time didn't seem like a continuation of work. But when I was a commercial sculptor for a while, that totally killed it!

I've had it suggested re. veggie cooking, gardening and various sorts of modelmaking. I can't think of a quicker way to destroy the enjoyment of a hobby than that. I'm impressed that John has found a route back in, mind.
And the maths never seems to add up for me anyway - tons of work, loads of overheads and no-one prepared to pay the small fortune required to make it profitable. It's (usually) a completely daft proposition.Comment

Decorator is coming this weekend and the other rooms should be done by the end of the month, only then can I relax and start building somethingComment

Mine does - double edged weapon though as I lose some wall space for bookshelves, display shelves etc but gain natural light and ventilation! Will have to take a leaf from John's book and build an extension to the MC :smiling: !
