It was Jimmy Saville who did the seat belt one, Clunk, click, every trip.
Who would have known at the time that Saville was the real danger in that one :flushed:

There are a great many of these, yet we are supposed to live in the “Nanny state” these days…..personally I think that the fact that we remember them still means they did their job well…..the Reginald Maudlin one would have been better targeted if parallel parking had just been added to the driving test though……

The National Archives hold all the PIF files, https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/..._all_films.htm and you can play them!
'Lonely Water' was the creepy one - voiced by Donald Pleasance...............

At least she wasn’t holding her phone horizontally, screen upward and microphone towards her, some distance away from her face.

Because she had only one hand on the pushchair she had poor control, the front wheel of the pushchair went off the kerb and the pushchair toppled over into the road. Luckily the driver of the approaching car was driving slowly and had quick reactions. It must have really frightened him though. The lady quickly righted the pushchair, the child seemed unfazed by the whole event, and continued on her journey.
Now believe it or not but she carried on as before, pushing her child with one hand and the phone held to her ear with the other.
Now has a parachute fitted for the next occasion....

Can’t just tar the newest generation with similar careless acts that our own mothers were also guilty of
My mother once left me outside the shop and went home, she forgot she had a new born, came back and there I was sound asleep.

Pulled up to a junction in the truck and looked at what the traffic was doing, and there she was in the opposite junction in the 4x4 Chelsea tractor, cup of coffee in one hand and phone in the other while admiring the makeup.....
Another driving in the fast lane (overtaking lane) phone in one hand and putting on the mascara with the other...
And I will not tell you about what another was doing but she had her head in the males lap..... later found out to be a big tv soap star.....

Yes, no matter the weather it was walk, and walk home in the dark during the winter.. The only tractors you saw were the ones gritting the road.
Kids today are not taught, they are indoctrinated that when they get a job they will start at the top, they are not taught that first you have to get a job...

I can't really remember what age I walked to school by myself ( 20 mins walk for a kid ), but it must have been 6 or 7! When I was 13/14, I used to go for 10/15 mile bike rides, with a couple of mates - parents had no idea of where we were & It wasn't consideredout of the ordinary.f
One thing from that era, that you don't tend to see now, was the number of loose dogs ( not strays ) , but not that many cats! That may have been peculiar to the local area

Go anywhere today and it’s like a scene from a zombie film, heads down focussed on whatever device then give you a filthy look because you stop dead in front of them. We’ll end up with a generation or two of hunchbacks
