I was in the Print for 23 years working first as a Scanner operator, then moved onto the Macs when computerisation hit. Then decided to change career.

I've been a train driver/instructor into Liverpool Street for the last 4 years.

Currently, when work is available I work in retail at a local toy superstore - not the great great job you think it sounds!!! And because of the current economic situation I have to sign on. By trade I was a mechanic for 20 years, but had to walk out because of a**ehole staff members and management!!!!!

      Cheers, Andrew

For most of my life I have been a flight simulator engineer, but these days I am electronicist and all round wizard for a local magnetic bearings company. We make the bearings for the 27MW motor/pump sets used in the gas fields in Holland, so if your gas stops, that's probably my fault.

I've followed a similar route to CDW and took 'forced' redundancy/early retirement 10 years ago so have become 'semi-retired'. I set up a computer supply/repair company a few years back which I ran together with my main business as a freelance graphic designer/photographer. I ditched (wound down) the computer business, although it was successful at times it could be scary as we built our own systems! I now totally freelance but with the way work is going at the moment gives me much more spare time for modelmaking - which I prefer!!

Had my own Landscaping business until a birth defect in my spine(neck area) resulted in me having to have an op 7 years ago to stop me being totally disabled from the neck down, luckily the op was a semi success, so now i have more time on my hands than i would have wanted as i am now disabled. But cant grumble i still get to do what i like doing every now and again.

Hey guys might aswel post, not much to tell though, Im only 21 and I'v never had a proper job, only worked bits and bobs for agencies as I have had trouble finding work since I was 16, I am currently unemployed and living off benefits (not the way I would like to live my life) but hey, I am also a full time carer for my partners younger brother so that limits the kind of jobs I can get at the moment plus the fact I also have a baby daughter to look after with my partner, but still looking for work part time, hopefully things pick up soon and we can get our own house and have a bigger family

I work in a Pluming/sanitation/electrical/worktool wholesaler. Been here for longer than I can remember, started as a truck driver, did a few years in one of our shops, and am now back in the warehouse in the returns department.

Keeps me happy, the bills paid and still leaves a bit of pocket money.

I retired from the Police after 30 years, mainly as a motorcyclist. I have always earnt extra pocket money as a photographer, and have carried on with that. I also keep fit working part time as a caretaker at a local school.

Well 18 coming up to 19 now and im a Apprentice Electrician and just months away from being qualified.

Money wise its a big balancing game as apprentice rates are really bad.Never the less i try and buy the odd model kit here and there and keep a eye out for the bargins!

Like most guys here, I've had a range of jobs including labouring and working on the sales counter for builder's merchants, driving and franchise operator of a garage (petrol sales not car repairs). I'm currently teaching maths to construction apprentices in a training organisation.
