Paraffin delivery van.
Dustbins that magically left their storage cupboard, were emptied and brought back and put away by a single binman, with no rubbish left on the streets and no fines.

The BBC test card, known as Test Card F was designed by Miss Hersee’s father, George Hersee, a BBC engineer. Carol holds a world record that's unlikely ever to be broken, her image has been broadcast on television for more time than any other, that girl was on our screens for several hours everyday for over thirty years from 1967, that's over 70,000 hours, It was even reused by technicians briefly for calibration of BBC HD in the early 2000's
Miko (Carol's little sister Gillian was to be the test card girl but she had recently lost her front teeth)
Bonus fact, the X' on the noughts and crosses board represents the center of the screenComment

Well where I am I think they are sorely missed. I agree that it is, like most things mentioned not a new thing. I remember it also from my youth. But here, these days much more so.Comment
