Not the day it should have been!!!

Should have made it back to the bench today to recommence the decals on the Sea King.
The kitchen painting was finished and all I had to do was replace the bibs and bobs back to their respective places on walls. A few unit doors replaced and the glass kitchen hood put back.
    THAT was the plan!
Then during the walk with pooch, I did something I haven't done since I was a kid. I slipped on a wet metal cover on a pavement and down I went. Ably assisted by pooch pulling me forward. Instinctively I put my hands out and landed on my knuckles!! Ouch, it stung. (Few of those horrible abrasions and a few chunks of skin gone but other than that I'm fine - just stings like crazy) Loads of sympathy from wifey. Well when I say loads - I mean none!! Doesn't do sympathy.
Put pay to any thoughts I had of trying to fit delicate minute decals. So I sat and sulked whilst reading up on what you guys are doing. Hopefully, I'll have full dexterity back tomorrow and be able to continue before the next job summons. (Bathroom painting and seal renewal!! - Ain't life fun) :rolling: :unamused:
I guess the only consolation was knowing I had annoyed SWMBO because I clot very quickly whereas if it had been her she'd still be pumping out claret!!!!

Sorry about your accident Doug, glad it wasn't worse for you. Yep I just had one who doesn't do sympathy either, I didn't find that very enchanting lol. Instead she'd usually look for the angle where there was something wrong I had managed to do. Hmm.... Lol !

Hope you feel better soon Doug.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

TBH, I wouldn’t count on that too much. Chances are it’ll trouble you more today than it did right after you fell, and it will then start getting better again.

                        I guess that earns you a painkiller (it's always 5pm somewhere )

Man...Doug I can just imagine the pain that comes after the shock. Good thing you didn't leave Claret all over the place...you'd be expected to clean it up I suppose. Chin up, on the third day you can shout pain and still secretly do the decals.

                          Cheers,
                          Wabble

Cor - thank you guys. Well, I was feeling better with all those kind comments. As per, Jakko was spot on, it was a tad more uncomfortable today. Bit of swelling of the digits overnight. However as the day progressed I was feeling more confident. Having a few jobs to do took my mind off things.
                              Then!!!!!
Feeling full of beans I thought I'd help SWMBO put some ornaments back and knowing she's not keen on anything above one rung of a set of steps I 'stepped' in then fell off!!!! Fell right on my left thigh. 'B*gger'!!!!! Bounced off my bureau I use as a gaming platform and ended up on the floor. I'm ok, pride hurt and a bruise on my thigh but other than that, annoyed.
I'm hoping my theory on things happening on three's don't materialise!!!!
Nothing planned for tomorrow - yet!!
Thanks again for your comments and concerns. I'm not going to do, touch or look at anything tomorrow.
