Northern Lights

They were out again last night but not as strong. Still a slight glow of greens and reds. The wonder of nature never fails to amaze me.

I first saw them when the ship I was on was going to Sweden - quite amazing - with no light pollution, they were vivid, and I was surprised how quickly they changed.......

I didn't stay up as long last night as i knew it wasn't going to be as good as the night before.

I'm planning for this winter coming that if there is going to be a decent display and it's a clear night, i'm going to head off up onto the local mountain and watch/take pictures from there. I've got my wild camping gear so i'll be nice and toasty up there.

I managed to miss it two nights ago but saw naff all last night. However, Aileen and I did see the Aurora Borealis when we went to Iceland a few years ago.

I didn’t know it would be visible around these parts until yesterday morning, when I heard on the radio news that it was the night before. So yesterday, I decided to go outside around midnight, but all I could see in the sky was a lot of stars. Probably doesn’t help that I’m in the middle of a village, so lots of light pollution around me, but I still stood around for a bit waiting for my eyes to grow accustomed to the dark a bit more, and that also didn’t help
