Mole Troubles

HI GUYS what the best way to get rid of a flamein pesky mole as i dont want to hurt him an ive bought one of of those solar powered mole repelant thinges but he an'it takin no notice of it an now there are more hils than the himalayers lol but he got to go ?

You could try these. They taint the flavor of the food that moles eat and it is supposed to move them on to other feeding grounds.

Takes a bit of patience and luck, but this works, 'cos I've done it on numerous occasions.

Get a garden spade, a garden fork, a pair of strong gloves and a bucket..

Go on patrol until you spot the movement in a mole hill. Dig in the spade across the critter's run to prevent it back tracking. Get your fork, dig under the mole ( he won't be very deep down )
Flick him out and grab him with your gloved hands and sling him in the bucket. He won't be very pleased! Take said creature a good distance from where you live and dump the thing.

AN THANK you 570 but when do moles start work is there any certain time as i think he brought his whole family now as there were 20 odd mole hils this morn or his mates Aaaaaarrrccchhhh BUT HE'S GOT TO GO

YES Jim it did us too very funny an cheered me up after this tomcat bussiness but its lookin better now due to me touchin up the decals so it may turn out a good build after all

well 570 then i could be there all day an night then sod that for a lark so i'll try an buy a mole trap as freinds have just been an they recomend one so i dont hurt him but if this keeps up then in goin to put an air bomb in his tunnel an hope the bang will frighten him or her away an all the family of them as they or he is makin a hell of a mess of my lawn Aaaaaarrrcchhhhhhhh

570, That's very unkind, I prefer the more advanced method , SMOKE, this of course is the prefered method as the garden can resemble a landscape of smoke billowing out all across the garden , very impressive.

Moles.
Let them be. They do more good than harm. They are territorial and will if left alone just build their tunnel network and go about eating slugs, lava and worms. They don't eat your plants!
Once they are finished construction work the mole hills will stop. Just sweep them into the grass. The soil is good and normally weed free! Good lawn dressing.
Voles on the other hand are a right pain. They make runs just below the surface and you risk a twisted ankle every time you walk in the garden. They are the ones that eat you plants.

Can I just say Gents that as someone that campaigns to protect wildlife I really appreciate the tone of this thread - it's nice to hear some non-lethal methods being discussed although I suspect the 'let them be option' would be the easiest - Extra ninja bonus points for all! I'm not sure if I'd trust Jasper Carrot with a nerf gun, let alone a shotgun!

My father in law used to swear by molehill soil for potting seedlings if that's any help.
