Here are some drawings from the old Kagero Hellcat book.

I hope they help. I think it will be quite a project to attempt. There are images of aircraft lined up on deck with the wings folded in an intermediate position(s).

But probably more with wings completely folded.

Anyway, less seriously, how would you manage this! It's a long way down from that cockpit.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Edit.

Here is how a "Wildcat" folded. There isn't a rotation, just an angled hinge if I'm not mistaken.

There's only two Hellcats in the first deck photo.

The aircraft further back with the wings folded upwards look like Avengers or similar.

The two Hellcats have the three bladed propellor whil the ones at the back look like they have a bomb bay open on some of the aircraft.

The hinge picture is the same mechanism that I referred to in the old kit,but with one hinge. They obviously fold along one plane only so it could be simpler than first thought.

You are quite correct...well spotted. I posted that before the detail of the hinge which would make that "vertical" position impossible. Thanks for pointing it out as it avoids confusion. What was it Graham was saying about the deliterious effects of age!

Beat me to it Graham and Steve, I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I was looking at my FB11.....

Re Hannants. I to have visited the web shop a few times, both before and after the update, and to be perfectly honest, I cant see any differences. Neither in the function or apperance if it. Did they also get a new addresse?

I must agree with M1ks its just to much bother and bouncing around trying to find things. tried three or four times and have given up each time. Shame because when you just browse around the site they have tons of stuff.

Before you buy from Hannants, check with John to see if he has an order going in, his prices will be very competitive. I assume he has a Hannants account as the Xtracrylix are theirs I believe. I always check with him before I buy from anywhere, if he cannot get it, he says so.

John makes it sooo easy for me to spend far to much money on this wonderful hobby of ours, ask nicely and he will bankrupt you to
