Heard of group build. Thanks. Sounds good fun. I couldn't do this one as my history and war knowledge is non existent!Sent from me to you
You don't have too know about the war just pick a kit and build it for it , there are quite a few airfix kits out that have d day on the box so that will help you , there is also a couple of diorama sets out now with all you need to build a diorama
To give you an idea take a look at some of the completed and under construction section in the SSIG forum
I got these today for the WWI SSIG I've got in mind

I've been wanting one of these since Special Hobby announced them, several years ago. One of the first Matchbox kits I ever built was their HueyCobra, back in the early 70s, and I've been hoping for a decent, new-tool 1/72 kit since then. Got this on eBay, arrived this morning from Poland; looks superb.

I built the matchbox one when I was a kid if I remember rightly it was a light brown plastic I hope you start this one soon
Recently bought the Eduard Spitfire Mk IX The longest day Limited edition...John
I am also getting the eduard Spitfire Mk IX Brassin Gunbay, as this was one area of the kit that was not supplied in styrene. Also, I had previously planned to buy some Brassin sets to accompany this fantastic tooling of the Spitfire.
Day off today so a trip to the LMS came away with these tiny 1/76 vehicles and figures and a massive 1/72 tiger and kubelwagen not sure as to why I keep buying things this small but from now on I'm going to stick myself with a pin next time I think about this scale again especially figures
Last of the kits for this year well it sounds good if I say it enough times any way these were just too good a bargain to turn away I managed to get these 3 for £45.00 all in
