They had loads of them but I couldnt afford to buy them all

The red ones are

Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk (open)

F4F-3 Wildcat

F4U-I Corsair

SB2C-1 Hellcat

B-25 A toG Mitchell

Blue Ones

F-4 Phantom

Grumman Avenger

Douglas R4D (US Navys DC-3/C-47`s)

A-6A Intruder and EA-6 prowler

F-8A-E Crusader

If anyone wants me to catalogue and/or buy some on your behalf, quite happy to do so.
These were my bible as a youngster, couldn't wait for them to come out.

They started at 1s-6d each, but over the years the price rocketed.

Colour schemes and markings were very helpful, but as time has moved on you realise that some of the information is suspect.

I have them all (red) in Genuine Profile Publications Bound Covers + a lot of doubles, and most of the blue ones.

Always wondered what they would be worth now

Not bad for £12 the pair & a great service from themodeller.com as I only ordered them yesterday!

The Dragon figures are lovely, very detailed sculpting & lots of extra bits - even the weapon barrels are drilled out!

After having a rather bad week at work which was a bit stressful to say the least I made a return visit to tk-maxx as I was there last week and managed to resist buying these at the time. I was shocked that no one had snapped them up as they had been sitting there for a whole week all vulnerable and everything and thought someone should give them a nice caring loving home.well you can guess the rest that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it plus wifey was at work and my youngest was at the pictures so easily ferreted away into the stash with no one to spill the beans

1/48 Leo my pics don't really do the bmf the justice it deserves also the detailing is top notch the only thing that concerns me is the touching up of gaps and joints but I won't really know if there are any until I start putting it together

Airfix have another of their "look what we found at the back of the warehouse" sales again with the Harrier and Sea-Harrier in 1.48 - but I think they may be old-tool? box-art is slightly different anyway, the model no is A05102 for the GR3 at least and I think it is probably the older tooling.

Firstly Id like to apologise to John at Scale Model Shop. He spent so much time on the phone with me giving me loads of advice, and I feel awful not actually making a sale

The problem I have right now is that having nothing at all I have to buy the basic kit. Its pointless buying the tools without something to make, and obviously pointless buying something to make without having the tools to make it with. To buy the airbrush I would like with kit and other stuff is going to come at around £400 which is way way out of my budget right now. I will be buying from you, but over a period of a few months.

So, only having 3 breaks a week from my job I trotted down to my local (when I say local I mean a 45 minute bus journey to the nearest half decent model shop) model shop on Friday, saw a great kit (Skyraider) and asked advice about their cheap airbrushes and compressors. However, I confess I hate kids and I hate busy places. So visiting a model shop during the half term holidays was a big mistake. So, wound up and fustrated I could do nothing buy leave, get on the bus and go home.

So, I went back yesterday (Monday) and started again.

Found an airbrush, £30. Not great but good enough for my basic needs. Also a compressor which Im told is good enough for the airbrush Ive bought. The plan now is to save up for something better and stick this lot on E-bay. At £80 for the lot I think it will be OK and Its not a great loss.

So, got all the various bits and bobs, sprue cutters, craft knife (made sure I could get replacement blades to fit), filler, spare pots for airbrush, brushes, glue, airbrush cleaner and files

Then, did my usual in shop trick of "If I promise to buy this can I open it and look at the paints I need". So picked up the lovely looking Skyraider (Ive done it in 1/72 a long time ago and its beautiful). Went through enough paints to get me to about 6 stages, converting the colour codes etc etc. Then, decided to look at the external paint colour so I could play with the airbrush, afterall, whats the point in buying an airbrush if you arent going to use it. Slight disaster. The model is in 4 variants, 3 non US and the Navy version was blue. Not what Im after, so changed my mind and picked up this awesome lookin EA-18G

Went through the paints etc etc, found 4 and also picked up an external colour. Im a biug fan of humbrol (sorry) but as they didnt have acrylics I opted for a model air 71.046 for the external (not in shot, but do you really need a picture to see what it looks like? )

So, £153, one happy bunny sets off to do a couple of other chores, then gets on the bus home. Oops, I forgot brush cleaner. O well, Ill sort something out, perhaps the air brush cleaner will work at a push, perhaps my client may have some in the garage, or at worst case scenario Ill use the brushes and not clean them and buy some more on wednesday (depending on how desperate I am)

Then I get home and open up my bags. Can anyone guess what I forgot?

Yup, after going through all that trouble of converting the paint colours I forgot to actually buy the paints.

Ive done a desperate online purchase from John in the hope that it will get here today, but I cant expect that as he says 1-2 days delivery. You dont know, I might get lucky. So, they should be here tomorrow and I can get cracking.

Ill also buy some brush cleaner tomorrow and I want to visit WIlko and get those big plastic tool boxes they sell. Dead cheap

Ive not taken a picture of the contents of the kit simply because Im using a camera and I only wanted to post one photo (poor internet connection) and Im going to be doing a build thread on it anyway. But if you are depserate to have a look do a google on
