Had a change of plan for my "Catch the pigeon" GB so I picked up the new donor and got some other stuff whilst I was at it...

              And the extras

I also bought more AMMO of Mig Alclad2 paints and I also ordered a couple of the new Tamiya lacquer paints, but they'll come in a few weeks since they're not ready to ship just yet.

The U.S.S. Enterprise will be kitted out with custom electronics and fancy lights. I'm also an electronics tinkerer so expect lots of blinking lights in all sorts of colours
The plan is to paint it with the new Tamiya Lacquers as soon as they arrive but I will practise first on scrap pieces so I get the hang of it.

I've just realised that 7 of my last 10 kits have been airplanes... Perhaps this old "German tank guy" is peaking over to the "other side"?

And you can use the paper to protect the dinner table as you build it.

I wasn't going to bother with the Daily Mail offer, but look what my eldest son's just dropped off - two kits!.....£2.00 worth.

Although I never read newspapers, I asked about the two he needed for the purchases.

He gave me one copy and suggested I light the wood burner with it. The second, he left behind the counter at Smiths - That's my boy!

                    Cheers all.

I spent the last of my Christmas money at Alton Model Centre yesterday on this. While there I ordered a few things from the Airfix 2018 range for later this year.

The black one looks a bit poorly. I bought one many years ago. The guy I bought it off was selling because his father, who owned it had passed away. I only had it for 20 minutes when it caught fire. The fire brigade said it was an electrical short circuit and a leaking fuel pump but I think it was the old chap who didn't want anyone to have his car.

Not worth a photo, but while being dragged around the shops by SWMBO yesterday I popped into The Works and bought a copy of "Wings on my sleeve", Eric "Winkle" Brown's autobiography, which is a fascinating read. Lots of interesting photos, and only £3 (paperback).

I'm just surprised anyone would dare to drive such a contraption in the aggressive English traffic...?
Not much protection in a collision...

The number of accidents I passed almost daily driving up A3 onto M25, or along M4 taught me to drive German autobahn tanks.
Worst traffic of all was probably in Guildford, where I worked for many years...
It felt really strange moving back to rural Sweden after 10 years in that traffic with suddenly hardly any cars at all on the roads if you compared?!

I wouldn't mind having a Reliant just for fun and dropping a Hayabusa engine in it, with a custom drivetrain!
0-60 in a couple of seconds - if one could keep it on the road... hehe...

I still drive British today but the opposite to a Reliant Robin, the biggest Range Rover I could find!
I'm sure your car consumes less fuel going full speed than mine does parked, but that's part of the game I guess...
