    First Flying lesson tomorrow

Got my first proper PPL lesson tomorrow! Pretty excited as it's something I've had my heart set on for a while, with a view to going up and up as far as my money will allow! Though the first target is the instructor course once I've amassed enough hours!

Well chuffed so I thought I'd share it lol!!

Just remember the old ones are the best, so any landing you can walk away from is a good one.......

I admit to a strong shade of green and an overdose of envy.

OK everyone wear a tin hat and keep an eye on the sky tomorrow!!!!!

Nice one Stuart, by next year you will be able to fly around and pick up all the members to have their annual meeting ;-)

Easy to say I know, but relax and enjoy it, theres nothing like the peace and satisfaction of sitting at 3000 feet looking down at the beautiful green country beneath you. (and the pleasure of yelling 'Clear prop' through the window before cranking it over)

Sadly, where I live now I don't get the chance as often as I used to, I miss it greatly, probably the only thing I miss about leaving the city for the Highlands

Cheers for the encouragement guys, and yea I'll do the taxi run next year if you all live near airstrips lol! I'm off to bed now, will be embarrasing to fall asleep in class, if class is a C152 cockpit!!!

                Stuart;

Welcome to the 2-wing master race! I have a PPL and a share in an aeroplane; I flew on Thursday (best weather for ages), and as ever, loved it! You'll learn loads of stuff, but remember that the 3 most useless things in aviation are:

                1. The runway behind you

                2. The altitude above you

                3. The fuel left in the bowser.

Also, whenever I feel the urge to fly in less-than ideal weather, I use the old maxim 'it's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground'.

Thanks Andy, I'll remember that one - need to have my brain in "acronym mode"! From my days as a Gliding Scholarship soloist in Air Cadets, I can remember there are a lot of them!!

I am extreemly envious, I've always wanted to do my PPL but never been close enough to a convenient airport. Maybe one day. My wife did buy me an hour in a Tiger Moth a couple of years ago and that was one of the best buzzes I have ever had.

Now I'd love to learn in one of those!!

Hope it goes well for you. I would just like to add that Green is not a good colour for me either!!!

Well guys, back on terra firma and no extra bumps or bruises! Lots of acronyms, Straight & Lvlv flight, climbing, diving, recovery from attitude to S&L Flight and a nice little taxi back to the shed! Um I mean hangar! The instructor thinks I did really well and had only a criticism that i used the instruments too much on a VFR flight! Wow I like Cubs, the 'drome I'm learning at has a neat little yellow one! As well as a Pitts S2A! Dunno who's they are though! !

Yeah Graham I've calmed down again now, but I pretty much just about asked for a second lesson immediately after we disembarked lol!
