Thanks Joe. Thanks Ian you are right some very nice comments here.

I have been dreading for the past few days the moment & put it off. Amazing thing was Pauline guessed straight away before I had hardly finished a sentence. How do they do it.

It will all turn out for you and your wife Laurie. My parents downsized their house recently. It was my Dad who didn't want to have to move, but Mum made him see the light and they are now happily settled into their new home with their dog. And much less cleaning and maintenance to boot, which is an added bonus for them. I'm sure your move, once made, will be for the best and you will settle together happily in your new home. Things have a way of turning out okay!

Im with all the guys on this one Laurie. It is a shame that sometimes things come to this, but remember... it is far better to be comfortable and happy than it is to be miserable, broke and stressed. Make that move and enjoy your life in comfort. A home is a home no matter what it size and it is even more a of a home when you can share it with your loving partner.

              Best wishes to you both.

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. As, has been said, it's only a house. You're taking the important thing with you (the missus!)

Best wishes in the search Laurie, its great that you have such a strong support system with the family and especially the Missus. My folks went through the same several years ago when my Dad retired and it all wound up working out really nicely for them and was a big relief both stress wise and financially when it was all said and done. My best wishes to both of You

Thanks very much to you all. very nice to express your thoughts.

Sure it will be for the best as gardens & house painting are slowly getting difficult (well they never have been top of my agenda any way).
