I'm a fan of the step by step posts and the option to follow or not is the viewers, some I will follow with great interests, car/bike/plane that specifically interests me or something new that I'm looking for useful pointers, (like armour).

I've never come across a step by step as patronising on any modelling forum to be honest, even some scratch built figure sculpting one I saw on one forum, way beyond my artistic capabilities but fun to see how it all happened.

That said, I tend to not do the step by step thing myself, (tried a couple), purely because i'm a slow builder and there can be weeks between say priming and assembly, like Steve, i'll sometimes just pop up relevant or interesting parts of the build but would be more inclined to do it if I was a faster builder with more time to devote to it.

I prefer step by step too, although I only tend to post when I have achieved notable stages of progress. I have used other members' build threads to help me, the latest case in point is the Boomerang. Without the research shared by Tony I would have gone ahead and simply followed the paint instructions blindly, as there is not a lot on the little aircraft in the way of colour schemes. Sharing information, methods and experiences are things that attracted me to this forum in the first place.

I like both - I learned a lot from step by step and love seeing the finished builds. I have only done one step by step myself, the ZM Skyraider, but post all my completions. Might do another step by step soon, my next build the Stormovik perhaps.

I haven't done a step by step before, I usually post completed builds, but I really enjoy watching when some one does one.

I'm a fan of the step by step thread, maybe it's because I'm a very slower modeller and I can do it.... (photos during the construcion time).

Said this.... I will to try a finished thread in my next project! Just to surprise you all. lol
