I wish I could retire and focus more on the modelling and get a bigger space

As I took up model making after retiring I often wonder how those working find the time to do what they do. I use my time as much as possible but there is never enough.

I use turntables on my desk top placing them just in arms length. when you need something just swivel the turn table. Keeps everything neat and you know where everything is kept.

I wonder that too. But somehow it just happens. Probably when I should be completing house renovations...

My wife bought it for my birthday last year and it took a lot of PVA glue to build, took a lot of dremmal sanding and the fit was good. I gave it a oak varnish to finish it and the MDF accepted two coats. On a post note we went to the real Pegasus bridge in 2013 and it was awesome to see what they have done there.

Ok! This is an update on my man cave.....

I polished the soil, and added two coats of paint and a final cot of gloss varnish....

The next step is polish the walls and add some colour (not like the soil/very much softer). And the last step the furniture....then, will remain only build models again

I am moving my Man Cave from using the bureau in the spare room to the Children’s play house in the garden ( 8ft by 8ft I think), came about as my wife wanted to repaint the walls in the conservatory so we took everything out cleaned it from top to bottom and painted the walls, during which she suggested that instead of setting up my spray booth, compressor and paint table, I would be better if I used the kids play house ( they didn’t use it once last year – getting a bit old for it now plus my wife wants to start using the conservatory to sit in and not be intoxicated by model paint fumes) so I jumped at the chance. Need to get some power and lighting in there (good friend is an electrician so mates rates ;-) I hope), tidy out all the ELC toys and stuff and bobs your uncle. Also got one of the conservatory comfy chairs in their as well. Might get some polystyrene for the walls to warm it up a bit, little beer fridge – ok going too far now (maybe ;-) )

That looks great Polux. So glad that you kept the wood and not paint it.

                                Now get and build something.
