All this talk on here of scooters, Lammies and Vespa`s have brought back some memories, I have had a good few in my years as a scooter boy, I even ran a scooter club in my home town in the 80`s called the Notts Rejects SC.
I am still into the scene now days, and still own a few in various states, I even run a page dedicated to scooters old and new on FB called showusyourscoots surprising how many folk were into the same scene and into modelling
I was never into the scooter boy side of it I'm a bit of a classic so I could never really get to grips with the custom side but I can appreciate the effort and imagination that goes into the customs
I remember a mate of mine taking his scooter to a spray shop in Birmingham , they used to do murals for bike tanks , my mate wanted the album cover of uugdons nut gone flake by the small faces on his side panels and one of Steve Marriott on the leg shields , the bloke in the shop a big hairy biker was giving us a bit of stick about it and then he admitted he loved doing scooters because he could really express himself because of the area on the panels, bloke did a brilliant job of it infact it was scooter of the month in scootering
Got a 1958 43L2 Vespa rod model and a Vespa VBB waiting for re-build and a few Vespa px`s and my old custom, just sold my Lammy to an old mate, I have had my fair share over the years
