How about if it looked like a negative photo, you know the dark colours looking light and visa versa

Or paint the markings in pink and pastel blue or reverse the colour scheme camo on the ventral side and sky grey on the dorsal side

Or tartan or you could do a chav look and paint it in a burbury check , or prince of Wales check or dog tooth check or even polka dot

The Spit is a retro and old plane...how about with some commercial colours..?

Green yellow of BP, red white of Coca-Cola,...or similar. It's easy to find decals about these marks and could be original

But why. I am sure that you could find a few good schemes without resolving to vandalism.. But your kit your choice.

They did look rather good in black. I believe it was an Israeli wing commander.

There was a couple of pink spitfires also a very pale 'baby blue' Both of these where PR birds.

There has also been a couple of racing Spitfires, and not to forget the speed spitfire, in high shine dark blue metalic with gold flash down the sides.. You'll need a new canopy for that one though....

I was thinking of a pink one but as i have few spits i wanted to go off the beaten track and see what else i could come up with.

I recently thought of a very glossy jet black Spit., upper and undersides, with glossy red on the spinner and the rudder and two stabilisers, and a thin to medium wide matching red sig-zag on the top of each wing from root to tip, wider at the root and gradually getting narrower towards the tip. Rather elegant I think.

I have just hit on one idea mixed up air forces say a jap zero in raf and a spit in jap air force colors or a yank plane in german and vice versa endless possibilites for this one.

TE199 was a Black & Gold coloured Spit. It met it's end on the fire dump in the 50's at 'RAF Sutton Upon Hull Fire School'
