I would suggest check with the police daily make a nuisance of yourself. I had a bike stolen when I lived in Stevenage (the very first brand new motorbike I ever bought so there was a lot of pride involved there) I could not afford fully comp insurance and so only took out third party so got nothing from the insurance I called into the police station every day for a month and was told every day "we will let you know if we find it" well on moved back to Sudbury some years later then moved to Glemsford, where I received a letter from Stevenage police station saying they had my bike and if I did not collect it within the next month they would scrap it. So I went with my mate in his van to collect it, and you won't believe this is was told they didn't have it, luckily I took the letter they sent me with me and showed it to the officer and they had another look and found it.

It had been found 2 days after it had been stolen, this dispite the fact I went into the station every day for a month to ask if they had found it. She was in a sorry state, but I have to say when I got her home charged the battery and put petrol in her she started first time. I can even remember the number plate YER 249T she was a YAM rd 100. The police recon it was stolen by someone who had been to the Knebworth festival to get home as it was found only 5 miles away.

So as I said make a nuisance of yourself because you never know you might be lucky.

I agree making a log is fine but you have to report everything to both the council and the police so they can see its genuine

Unfortunately The do gooders and human rights people would say it was wrong to treat someone like this these days. The scum bags that do stuff like this do not think about the rights human or other of those they perpatrate these crimes against. They should be made to do work in the community wearing bright orange grow bags with crim written in bold lettering front and back. We all know this will never happen because we as a country are to bloody soft. We have become a yes nation that bends to nearly every whim thrown at us from Europe and other countries that won't do what they expect us to.

In Jan, 2008, I was sharing the rent on a 2 bdrm apartment with my brother. We'd been there for about 9 months, when i came home from work one night in Feb to find the locks had been changed. We had been thrown out for "Non payment of rent"!

As it came about, my 'brother' had been not paying rent back in Nov or maybe Oct 2007. He was taking my share of the cash and spending it how he pleased (wine, women and song), and let me live under the assumption that all is ok.

I called him that night, as he was living with his mistress (why he stopped paying rent, ultimately) and told him what happened. Thrown out. Locks changed.

He grows angry and incredulous and says "They can't do that"!!

.....uuuuuuh, well...they did.

That's not all they did. while the bailiffs and and his crew went through the place while we were out, they stole my transit fare (a full book of tickets, good for a week) and about 18.00 I had on a nightstand. Now that's violation for you! It still chokes me up to think about it.

He cleaned about 5000.00 from my wife's life savings to pay that debt, and he still won't own up to it. Now he's trying to claim that the money was a gift and to expect us to have him pay it back is unreasonable, and always was.

I'm like, well, you could have said "No" to the money at any time prior to us handing it over, but you didn't. You could have said (if what you are saying now is true) "guys, if you give me this cash, it's gone. I will never pay it back and will hate you if you ask me to".

And we'd say "ok, I understand, you cannot have any money, solve this problem yourself".

He knew what was on the line. What a scumbag. It gets worse but is not relevant to this situation.

That was our travelling fund, and because of that, we are now trapped here in this city, pretty much unable to move. Still trying to get out of that trough...

Human rights! Where was the rights of the victims. To many do Gooders ' they are human beings, can't treat them like animals'...yes you fricking can! They are animals! Our country has been allowed to be bent over and take it from Europe...where is the Great in Britain??? A country run by muppet!

Do they have these issues in Singapore where people get caned? Or Saudi Arabia where they cut off your non-toilet hand? No need to go back to Victorian punishments, but maybe if prison was indeed a basic cell with bread and water with an hour of exercise a day, rather than modern amenities and roast dinners and cable TV, then it would at least make even an opportunist criminal think twice. As it is in many western countries they laugh at the Police and happily go through the motions of the system if they are caught.

Great Britain ha! Nothing great about it anymore it's been brought to its knees. The cities and towns are now the worst places to live I will be leaving my place of birth (B"ham ) ASAP already looking at places to escape to after slowly watching my neighbourhood go down the pan . I hate this dog eat dog world I'm living in what happened to respect honour empathy manners to mention a few of the values that have now disappeared .To all those who served their country you have my greatest respect but as Lee said for what . I worked for HMS prison services for a number of years and have 1st hand knowledge of many prisons in and around the uk and as already been said it's like butlins holiday camp with many repeat offenders after a nice place to live and sleep with 3 meals a day. Would love to bring back my great grandfather and see is reaction to GB now . I'm really sorry Gregg about your mothers situation and hope your problems are sorted very soon .This island we all live on is not going to get any better but feel it's going to get a lot worse as time goes by I'm so glad I was born in the 1960s and have a few memories of what a decent place this used to be I fear for my great grandchildren have to stop here as a could go on and on .................................................. .....
