I feel your pain Tony. Hate it when this happens after so much time spent on a model. Good luck with the touch up. Im sure it will come out looking great.

Touched up the masking problem ok and got the undercarriage and doors glued on . Next problem - I didnt anticipate this being a tail sitter but the surprisingly forward angled main undercarriage legs and the large tail means its now sat down like a spaniel begging for a treat ( other dog breeds are available , im partial to a cockerpoo or whippet actually )
Anyways its a bugger so how to address this ? I have a cunning plan as baldrick used to say !Click image for larger version

Drill a hole in the (underside of) the nose, put some lead shot in, then plug it back up and paint over it?

So how to solve the tail sitting issue ? I had the idea that as I had still to attach the two drop tanks , i could fill the front end with enough lead to keep the nose down . I used fish tank plant weight , cut into tiny strips and inserted through a slot cut into the top of the tank . The slot being covered up by the pylon after fitting. The lead was fixed with superglue squirted in through a drinking straw , heated and stretched to form a thin spout .This did the trick and after the tanks were fitted there was no evidence of the surgery , and it now sits on its nosewheel. Not an option jakko as the nose is all full of cameras and windows . The tanks sorted it though thanks

That was indeed a plan as cunning as a graduate from the university of cunning.

I bet you could have used Liquid Gravity through that slot though, or its much cheaper equivalent, teddy bear weight.

Great result Tony, neat ways to tackle the issues with the decals and being a tail sitter:thumb2::thumb2:.

Great result Tony especially after the problems that the model threw at you. Great photo. Look forward to the rest.
