Simon I thought there was a very large gap behind the gun on mine ! Looks far better with the added detail. Waiting to see what you do with the aerial mount on the left hand side of the upper structure.

John - they didn't try very hard with this bit! Not got to the aerial yet
Jim - ta. Very nice trees
track guard edges made from pewter then track guards installed on vehicle
side panels then added to the superstructure after a little fettling to get a good fit
front tow brackets added - these each comprised two badly fitting parts and lots of flash
track guard ends folded ready for installationComment

Morn Simon,
I should have commented earlier, but your builds are so interesting and so much fun to watch. They are better than cable TV any day and this one is also a cracker Sir!
Deep down, like Mr. Benson, I knew you couldn't just let all the quirks in the kit pass without correcting them. Tops as always!!!

Thanks Steven
Allen - you must have some very boring TV where you live! First look it appeared not too bad but the more I looked the more I found that needed work - cheers
Pete - thanks
Graeme - thanks
Bob - haha, nothing special just normal modelling stuff
a few bits added at the rear end
I then spent about two hours making the headlights - needed considerable fettling to remove flash and flared edges and to get the etch to fit
used Grandt Line wing nuts rather than the wafer thin etch ones
Also cleaned up the rest of the suspension arms and made a start on the dampers
The damper tubes are badly moulded with a huge step between front and back - if I clean them up to get rid of the step this will result in the tubes being way too thin
I will therefore replace the dampers - the top and bottom mounts cleaned up ok so I only need to replace the tube partComment

added a few etch brackets on the front track guards
managed to damage the dot pattern on the left side which is rather annoying - will have to try and replicate the dots to disguise the blank area
made the new dampers and fitted the kit top and bottom mounts to them
added all the suspension arms - for some reason I have eight spare ones
None of the road wheels fitted onto the stub axles so I had to drill all the wheels out until they did
all the arms and dampers in place - damper top mounts also got the four missing bolt heads
made a start on an axe and the etch holder

Those two taken together make me wonder whether you put on the wrong arms? Very easy thing to do with these (ex-)Dragon kits that have unused duplicates of all sorts of parts.Comment

Wow, Didn't know there was an Iron Maiden Brewery in Cheshire Simon! Wish you all the best in 2020.....Oh, and love the dampers too!!!
