Hi Paul just hope you can see the difference between the variations I don't want there to be a vast difference just subtle one, the panel fading I'm going to try doing it with a sponge a bit like a very big chipping effect, center to the outer.

Had a go at making the centre of the casement panels lighter IE a bit of light wear.

Hi final bit of experimenting on this test vehicle add a lighter shade of grey to the sides and inner lower hull and started very light rust worn effect.Might add some darker chipping marks just to see what they look like then I will prime the whole lot again and I have another go.

                Hi Pete
You are certainly a master of the hairy stick. Just shows that great results are possible without an airbrush.

Sweet detail work as always Pete :thumb2: .
Really like how the lightened panels came out, if you told me you had used an airbrush I believed it.

Hi I've decided to finish this one, applied gloss coat and decals, painted storage.
I think some of the pictures show a bit more of the shading.

Hi Pete, love those paint test charts, I did one some years ago with differing air pressures and mixes of thinners . All great fun and helpful later on .

You posted the finish as I was still typing, oh the " crap in the back " is just brilliant , nice one mate.

Thank you Bob getting there slowly, thought I'd try something new it was something Paul said about shading the centre part of this panels so hence the experiment lot easier with an airbrush but something I'll keep trying I think.
                              Pete.

Thank you John, at least I can see what colour the paints are once paint has dried and we'll be doing greens and dak colours,
I'm pleased with my first attempt at it and we'll be using it in a future I think and for crap I'm brilliant at that too.
